New rule. It's too big

If I can circle your base with my draw distance set to ultra, and never at any point get it all to render in.
IT’S TOO BIG.

If I’m running along fps of 70+, and the closer to your base I get the more it drops, and by the time I am at your base my fps is 10.
IT’S TOO HEAVY

Trying to get people to use “heavy” for a base with a lot of activity; thralls, animals, torches, placeables ect.

Yes, I know ranting again. I’m on that “public server” just trying to hunt for skins. Down town Dubai, with sky scrapers, bridges covering miles, even an elaborate Ltrain system. Back to the jungle where it’s just birds and beasts.

Maybe they should add “rant” to the thread options

Ya, I know. But I see this as a big nail so it needs a big hammer and a lot of pounding. But I don’t think I’ll get too much push back saying one of the top 3 issues with the game right now is the present state of the public servers.

Sounds like a pve-c or pve server XD

if you are talking of pve server you are probably right, if you talking of pvp server you are probably wrong, as on pvp server this is not the buildings that are the problem.

Oh you know I PVE.

Although I was on a private PVE-C severer for a while and the weekend games of tag were just too fun
About 4 months and the host lost interest.

I think I may have mentioned it before but my husband rekindled his interest in Conan again a few months back but didn’t want the stress of PVP. So we joined a PVE-C server and immediately were inundated with immense lag. You could barely leave noob without rubber banding, stuttering, blah blah.

I was so excited that he wanted to play I didn’t do my usual map investigation upon spawn… but when I finally did I was shocked. Soooooo many altars, many in clusters so quite obviously huge bases.

Ok fine. We left. That is seriously unplayable afaiac and we both have good rigs and good internet. So rule that out.

What gets me with all of this is people SHOULD be able to have a base with all altars, why not? They should be able to decorate and enjoy it.

So while perhaps these people are in direct violation of the ToC, this is not their fault. It is Funcom’s for allowing the G-Portal Officials to be this way.

They need to get better service that can support their game.

Half of our base doesn’t render when I’m standing directly beside it. I’ve even gotten lost in it, hand to Crom :joy:. But I’ve still seen bigger…much bigger actually.

This is the only suggestion I can make that may resolve your issues, but in the long run, what you do on your own server will also determine server and game performance.
I rent a server for me and my fiance.
The cost is minor for the time we spend together and enjoy this game without having to worry about anybody else. That cost for me to rent a server in advance for a full year was around $150.00 U.S. and I don’t worry about monthly payments.
Even that minor cost is very much trivial compared to the enjoyment we get out of it playing together.
I am sorry for your nightmare on PVE-C and PVE officials.
I wish people were more mature and reasonable in their behavior. But sadly, they are not.

You (and your partner) must decide whether or not you wish to break free from that nightmare. Consider the cost vs the tradeoff in what you can gain out of it including peace of mind.

Have a private servers Exiles from beginning Siptah over a year and yet we play mostly on Official. They are great to experiment with but admin is so easy to jump in to.

I have now read everything and I have a question, on which platforms do you play?

Because on my PS5 as on my PC, I don’t have any problems with anything, except that there’s nothing left for me to do.

On our PvE Official server, there used to be a “neighbour” who built his main base to be like Saruman Tower. My screen would freeze each time I would ride too close to his base, so, I would carefully avoid that part of the map. Then one day, he chose to build a CASTLE for his pets. Let me rephrase it. He chose to build his castle closer to our base rather than his, for his multiple pens for rocknoses (the guy explained to me that he was too lazy to farm stone to complete the building of his Saruman Tower… hence the industrial farm of rocknoses if I may say).
I asked him to build his castle a bit further down, away from our base. He refused, saying it was our fault for not putting temples in our base, so our base would be invisible to others on the map. How was it our fault when he could litterally SEE our base (castle + village) with his eyes from where he was building, as the distance between the two was so short! He just did not care.
So we had to cope with it for a few months before his buildings disappeared all of sudden one day.
I do not miss such a neighbour

They all eventually disappear. That’s why I try not to let them bother me too much. :unamused: as long as I can play, I’m fine. Though they do annoy me regardless. I look forward to looting these AHs that do that kinda stuff because I have no sympathy for those that build in my backyard then let their bases go into decay because they “forgot” to refresh.

Indeed, it was so annoying. But the most annoying part was when doing the dungeon to unlock the draconic armour. The final boss is in a kind of open arena, right? You can see it from above in the desert.
When we first did the dungeon and accessed to that final room (not knowing our adventure would lead to that arena)… what did we see? An elevator.

Why? How?
My mind exploded.

Yes… the said neighbour had installed an elevator in the desert to directly go down the arena part, and we never realized. It was such a deception to have a player’s building affect our first discovery of that final room.

I thought that the recipe we would unlock would mean something important, because we fought hard to get there (and I died many times, it was just before the Sorcery update). I was honestly proud for a moment. Until I realized that neighbour just went down his elevator and ran fast to unlock the same recipe we fought so hard to get. It was so bitter.

I wish Funcom would make that area unproper to build ontop, like when you are too close to an enemy camp.

That’s actually pretty typical of PvE servers. Just about every server I’ve been on has an elevator there, so it’s nothing new or exclusive to that player. I find them convenient, but I understand. The feeling of not seeing anything there is much nicer, but when you’ve done it several times, having an elevator can streamline an otherwise annoying way in. The snake boss isn’t super easy and I would often run by it every time as a low level.

Really? I did not know it was like this on other servers too. :confounded:
And now, with the age of sorcery (slow fall), there is no need for such buildings anymore. Let’s hope people will grab their magical wand rather than the construction hammer from now on :flushed:

Not everyone, especially low levels, will have sorcery unlocked, so that’s not a solution. Also, you still gotta get out. Unless you plan on summoning a bat demon, and I don’t much care for that summon. I wasn’t that impressed in its slow rising ability. The one at the beginning flies up quick. Why can’t I do that?

Yes, but the draconic armour was not meant for beginner players anyway. I see it more like an ultimate armour for thralls. So I still believe the Slow Fall is a pretty good compromise for those who joined a server not so long ago, but are still experienced players who do not want to go through the whole thing to unlock what they once had on an other server. Plus E5 to unlock the sorcery is easy to access to when you start in the South. I don’t know :persevere:

I tried the bat once in PvE, it was more for fun than usefulness. Is it good in PvP? It’s true that the one at the beginning is impressive to look at lol.

The dragon is suppose to be beaten around level 40-ish according to the story. So yeah… it’s supposed to be a lower level area. The fact that the dragon armor is there is irrelevant. It’s just an armor and weapon set you get along the way. You can’t craft ANY of the epic gear until 60, regardless how ready you are fore certain areas. I took on the red mother at 35 with a berserker thrall I farmed.early on. Does that mean I shouldn’t at least be able to LEARN the recipes? They tried doing that with recipes for a little while and then removed that bar for chapter 2 I think? It was stupid to take out the dragon, then be told I need to be level 60 to learn recipes from a level 40 area. :unamused: so yeah, I’m thankful for an elevator so I didn’t have to go through EVERYTHING again.

I couldn’t tell you about PvP as I don’t play it. I think the bay got nerfed a bit though, so who knows?

Maybe they should start changing that… It’s true that it does not make sense to have such a gap. Or maybe it’s just so the lvl 60 players would return to these areas at some point in their gameplay? I’m not really sure of the intention

Before the major update, the dungeon was definitly not easy. I used to kill the dragons with a line of stone daggers and patience lol. The real problem of that dungeon is what lays before the final room (you spoke of a snake earlier, I always die on these, ALWAYS) :face_vomiting:

The update made the thralls more powerful through the attributes, so who knows what it’s like now

Anyway, I understand where you come from for not wanting to have to do it all over again. I will try the jump though if I have to restart on a new server. :thought_balloon:I believe I can fly~ :thought_balloon:

Oki, thank you x)

Bat is very useful for PVP as you can bypass the layers of anticlimb (fences and crenellations) that usually prevent climbing. These are more for “pillar” type bases.

Bat was not nerfed afaik, lightning storm was but that was due to the fact it was 1 shotting vaults and generally destroying bases faster than other raiding materials - which take much much more time and resource gathering to acquire.

As for the elevator, many servers have them including PVP. I would not be concerned with micro managing others’ progression or experiences. There are players that have 10k+ hours in the game that have been there, done that. Even at my measly 6k I can’t be bothered to defeat the undead dragon, I just need the recipe. So if no elevator I’ll actually hop down the middle instead of getting corruption through the entrance. I can also level myself in less than 2 hours, go straight to the volcano upon spawn, go through the Black Keep naked to get the silent legion recipes, etc.,… you get the picture.

But that is building on a POI, a TOS violation. Little things and slipper slopes.

I used to run in, get the recipes and run out. Really not hard, just don’t stop to fight. Then farm dragonets.

The headhunter wagons screwed the level/weapon/tool balance of the game.
