Every time my cimmerian berserker levels up, have to take gruel out and put back in because the bonus strength growth disappears until I put the gruel back in.
Steps on how to reproduce issue:

I can confirm that every time a thrall/pet levels, they lose the bonus of whatever food you fed them. I figured it was intended, because I assumed it was for people who wanted to vary the attribute bonuses, and have the bonus in different areas.
I believe this particular issue is when the food is left on the thrall. Before the fix, you could leave food in their inventory, and they would eat it for the bonus.
third confirmation. Have to swap the food out to get the bonus % back on the RNG area.
I actually kind of like this as a feature. You can give them 1 of whatever you want for leveling. Then drop a bunch of healing food in there. Then when they level you can drop the 1 that you want back in for the stat increase. You just have to remember to drop the one back in. Early leveling may be a bit odd because sometimes you get multiple levels in one kill 
Might have to test a bit. Are you sure they consumed the food between leveling and when you checked their stats?
I am having similar experiences with other Thralls aswell same thing happening with my Erii
Yeah, I’m sure, after every level they have to eat to heal for me atleast cause vitality, have to take out and reapply for him to even eat it or get bonus back
