Crafter thralls keep dying to unknown forces. Have walls surrounding my encampment, but they keep dying. Also my freya quest is bugged. Is it cause I’m doing Lei fei’s at the same time? She won’t start the hunting. And it’s been more than 8 hrs since she came and seen me at my base.
Do not put out artisan thralls. You will lose them:
What do you do if they’re already out? How do you put them back?
Can’t. It’s RIP, already-placed artisan thralls.
Best you can do is start shopping for their replacements. And then hold onto them safely inside chests.
If you’re in single player you can toggle it off. On private servers admins should really be turning it off until it’s ben fixed.
“Server-wide Toggle for Living Settlements added.”
If on officials, you can try setting all your interactable placeables (seating, beds etc) to disallow thrall use. Someone said they’d tried that and it seemed to stop them wandering about, which might help, but this hasn’t been confirmed by anyone else that I’ve seen.
“Each individual placeable now has a toggle from the radial menu allowing or disallowing followers to use them.”
On 2880, someone has already set up a tower to try to collect the wandering thralls that appear in the sky at G9 to assist folks in gathering their lost thralls. I have a shieldwright there now. There are many other thralls also gathered in the sky and the base from other clans. No need for a picture, Funcom (or the AI interacting with us). You can just log in and see the wonder of this stunning bug yourself. This game is unplayable.
We need a rollback, Funcom. This update has cost us way too much. Act soon please.
hehehe…
sorry for saying this, but i warmed everyone about this patch. told all the things that would happen, adviced to delay it until things get fixed and properly texted. some of us were ignored by funcom @Kikigirl
Make sure to look in the bugs category as I do this playthrough though, I ain’t finished.
I admire your determination @Kikigirl, yet I’m curious as to where your grim resolve comes from in the face of such predictable disappointment.
This game has been my escape from reality. It was what got me through some of the most toughest times in my life. Those chapters have not come to a close as I still endure. I made amazing friends, aside from its therapeutic nature, some of the best times I’ve ever had gaming in a multiplayer environment. In addition, the IP is something dear to my heart as my late father also introduced me to Conan when I was young.
I mourn the loss of what it used to be and what its potential could be. It might be a game but it means something.
If I can make a difference then this is what I’ll do even if it doesn’t help in the end, at least I tried.
And really, there’s no excuse for this many bugs, like seriously? C’mon.
Moving post, thank you. Yeah, it’s a very special game, nothing else really quite like it, despite all the flaws and frustrations. It wouldn’t be so frustrating if it wasn’t so loved.
I once expressed similar sentiments as yours to a game developer during a kickstarter I was particularly grateful to, and received a response I’ll never forget. Basically about how seriously his team took their craft, given that they regularly received such messages of heartfelt thanks from all sorts of people going through all manner of life’s tribulations, including recovering from war and coping with terminal illness.
Hard to think of them as just games after that.
I wish all game developers could be blessed with such passion as yours and that dev.
I’m sure your efforts aren’t wasted, it’s just Funcom’s habit of release now fix it later that gets so very tiresome.
Funcom does kind of get there in the end, even if Conan always feels like it could be or should be more than it is. I’m sure the settlement system will be sorted out eventually. Fairly sure. Um, reasonably sure
Even confutius once said: If a videogame is what gets you thru tough times. you have waaay biger problems than you think maam
Eat my shorts!
Thanks and ya, I’m super duper sure everything will be fine
Was anyone honestly expecting anything different? I’m mostly just surprised it isn’t WAY worse. This idea that games need constant updates forever to survive is unsustainable nonsense that leads to exactly what we’ve been getting since the end of Age of Sorcery.
I will never understand why we can’t just stop developing the game? Surely it’s more cost effective from a business perspective. You aren’t bringing in new players at a rate thats worth the man hours involved and you’re just irritating your already small (in comparison to other survival titles) loyal player base by making tons of changes to core systems in the game just so you can say you’re making new content. Yes you’ve made major changes in the past but no where near at this rate and its quickly transformed your game into being conan exiles in name only.
If someone asked me 3 years ago what Conan Exiles would look like if Ubisoft made it… yeah it would probably be current Conan.
Well spoken!
I think it’s the myth that live service games are the new “in” and that’s the way to make money. So games that were never intended to be live service suddenly get reimagined because the powers that be are just . EA is even developing The Sims 5 as a live service game and has started adding stuff to Sim 4 to test the waters (log in rewards, for example). I hate it.
Same for me, kiki. I can perfectly relate to that feeling.
I have been dealing with cancer , and this game actually allows me to put aside all the crap that goes with this desease. Its a great therapy for me.
This game also means something to me. and it pains me to see it screwi g itself. good intended decisions but poorly and untested implementarions. You guys really need to look into the testing and beta process , the one you have in place is not working.
I lost count how many times i said why the settlement systen was a bad idea how.it was presented i also pushed hard yo make it optional. As it should have since day one.
Companions even with its current bugs is a great idea and i like it. Agsin Its entirely optional . You can as a player decide if you want to engage on it or not. Same goes with witch hunt. And sacred hunt. This is called options. As you can decide if you want to fully engage or not
Rule of thumb for anyone at funcom reading.
If change is cosmetic it needs full control from players. And it has to be optional. I mean feel.free to change animations improved those . As it has no consecuence
Dont change something working flawlesly by a system we all knew it would be problematic, improve on the working system , make better animations, allow players to decide if they want to have roaming crafters or not. Allow players to decide if they want their crafters deployed or not. Give options to players so they can choose how to run their settlenents its up to us how we want ojr settlement , it should.not be up.to you funcom do not force people into anything specially if it is mostly cosmetic
do this , and you will please everyone…
Major changes… pleade make pools , you did it several times before bazar, talk to players, have your great guys like @AndyB and others engage with us. You.might hear a good idea or two that could help . Engage more with modders with very sucesful nods. I mean go.closer to the people who are loyal and will support this game. Hear us , you own the keys , but hear us.
I kbow i can be a pain in the butt , but i am.filled with good intentions. I want your success. The key here is make the world ( you did) add options let people.decide if they want to use it or not this is the core of a sandbox.
To all thanks for hearing.
I couldn’t have said this any better myself!
Thanks for everything you do!
Cheers Kiki!
Hope to see you in the servers 1 day!
