no because they dont listen, but at this stages they should know better.
this, they have never used beta client as it should and never had a functioning beta testing program and if they had, its probably among the worst in the industry.
in the meantime :
yes…. there is an increasing amount of people having issues wthi this. (includes me. )
Every Conan update is a chance for me to hope they’ve fixed some of the longer dwelling bugs. If we can get an update like the pre-AoS Chapter 3 QoL update, I will be very happy. That was probably the best patch they have ever released.
they might say whatever they want, saying it , does not make it the truth, truth and facts are proven by actions, and it is more than obvious the beta branch was never used the way they should have.
The most recent coverage from Caroll on this topic didn’t really change either.
What has changed though is another communication from AndyB that (and I’m paraphrasing) they “may” release future Betas. I’m on mobile at the moment so limited in getting the link.
A). Yes, many things have been fixed during the testing phase in the olden days of Conan Exiles so you cannot say “never used the way they should have”
B). As you can clearly see (seeing as you quoted it yourself) I distinctly said “-but then results do prove otherwise don’t they?” (though I accidentally typed then instead of they ) So you are arguing that actions prove….what I said they prove?
C). Yeah, anyone might say whatever they want. And that included you. People (and companies), are free to say whatever they want to say.
D). Accountability for what one says is another matter. So just as we would like to hold Funcom accountable for what they say, we should also hold ourselves accountable for what we say. So when we say absurd things that are easily proven false like “they have never done X” when that is a bold faced lie, then once should be called out for it should they not? And when Funcom says that they are going to use the Public Beta for a specific purpose and then THEY DON’T, well then we should call out to people like @AndyB who made said statement. But we should also do so in an honest manner and not with hostility and lies.
It is a fact that the HAVE fixed things have have been reported previously in the days of Testlive. This is not arguable, this is fact. Did they fix everything? HELL NO! Did I ever imply that they did? HELL NO! Did I ever once claim anything about what version was on Testlive vs. what version was uploaded? Nope. Did I ever once claim that they have a proper testing program even when it was better than in recent years? HELL NO!
So rather than attempting to argue things that do not exist and equate things to that which do not exist, how about you actually read what was written and respond to that instead? You would do yourself a whole lot more good if you do that.
Cry me a river. Even a paying customer who acts like a spoiled petulant child can be tossed out of any place of business. Go to any (insert business here) and act like a complete arse and then claim “but I’m a paying customer” and guess what, you will get tossed right the fvck out and likely banned from the place.
Being a “paying customer” does not grant you special privileges. It does not give you the “right” to act like an arse and be abusive or anything else. So as stated above, it does not give a “paying customer” the right to make up lies that are easily proven to be false just so they can vent their frustration because “THEY MAD!”.
If you are unable to express your frustration with Funcoms lack of communication, or testing, or bug fixing, or planning or…anything then why are you still here? This is clearly a toxic relationship for you, so why are you still spending your time supporting Funcom in any capacity at all? And yes, contributing to their forum is still showing them support even if you think that you are not, you are. Yet you clearly do not seem to be getting ANYTHING from it other than grief and suffering, so why exactly are you here?
Again, I never once said that at all. Please respond to the words I write and not the words you make up.
I have not said anything at all about you being so unpleasant. I said that your experience with Funcom is unpleasant, which it is. And that is NOT YOUR FAULT!
We both agree that Funcom has many faults, I doubt that there is anyone on these forums that would not agree with that statement. The difference is how we go about expressing our frustration with those faults.
Well that is good because I have no intentions of doing that either.
LS was on Public Beta client. As I wrote, and you quoted:
“It is a fact that they have fixed things that have been reported previously in the days of Testlive”
As I keep saying, respond to the words that I have typed….. It will make things so much easier for you….
So, considering that they changed from Testlive to “Public Beta” well before Living Settlements was ever a thing… clearly this has nothing to do with what I was talking about.
The Public Beta system is a complete and utter joke. Testlive was not even very good, but it was miles better than the current system. The current Public Beta system is just… pointless. And as @Kikigirl pointed out they even stated that they are not even going to put things on it on a consistent basis, which is fine because it is pretty pointless in the first place. Find out all of the bugs before it goes live just to find out that there are even MORE bugs once it does go live? Great!
But back in the old days of Testlive they actually did fix things. Not everything. But they did fix things. @Jimbo can attest to that.
Welcome to the Forum Exile. For anyone interested I learned about this game watching video of beta testing before the launch it was crazy fun to watch.
Something completely different: What about future new Twitch Drops or a further reload of older Drops?
Would it be possible to bring the 30 minutes watched-Twitch drops from May 2021 from the Isle of Siptah launch back into the race with the next update, @AndyB? Or maybe a reload of the December 2022/January 2023 Twitch Drops for Christmas this year?
IF the event is the “Dark Dregs”, and the Dregs is not on Siptah, then I fail to see how it would be held on Siptah. They have not actually announced that this was in fact that the event is yet, but signs do point towards it. And signs have pointed towards ignoring Siptah for… the last few years as well. Sadly.
If they implement it on the Exiled Lands they really aught to implement it on Siptah as it is also an official map. And that is the key factor, it is an official map. The fact that is is an “expansion” map behind a paywall is not relevant, it is an official map. Non-official maps are up to the 3rd party map makers to figure out how to add them in, but official maps that should be handled by Funcom at time of release.
I don’t care if the exact event if present on siptah or not and in fact I would actually prefer not. I would prefer new content for us that have siptah that isn’t part of the EL experience. While I do understand focusing on EL since it’s the base map, I would like to believe siptah isn’t just placed on maintenance mode.
If server transfer comes back into play (which is interesting in that they are mucking around the main menu UI for that button) them we may see something interesting in that siptah is back in the mix. For @den or other dev lurkers, if you are working on this, can we potentially have the ability to maintain the old base and the new one? Basically bounce between maps? It just basically opens up the ability to utilize server transfer maximized benefits for solos that clans can abuse.
