I didn’t see anything in the patch notes on this but my outpost up on the same level as Mek is now a no build zone. It seems fine (for now) but I can’t build or place thralls now.
Just wondering if anyone else noticed?

yea, the entire area on and around the spire is building not allowed now.
Seems quite unnecessary. Another undocumented, unwanted change with this update.
I have two bases there (one on XBox, one on PS5). Not nice. At the moment i sit there enjoying the view and consider to leave rather than relocate as this update is a grating mess as always but i probably will cave in and keep playing…
They make changes without saying anything, we ask questions. We get no response or explanation.
We have now buildings in no build zone. We do not know, if we will be getting reported by other players and wiped. Or will be changed back to what it was, or whatever idea someone could come up, without developer saying anything.
Why do they ask for emails to send us news, updates…?
You there at funcom cant even take time to communicate on your forums.
Your updates suks!
Thank you for noticing, i didn’t knew.
Yet allow me to explain here one thing.
So we play in a public server, and devs are giving us some spots to place bedrolls, and someone else decides that he - she will claim this little spot for his-her own teleport stone…
Or, oh let’s fix a garden here, why not the view is fantastic…
Where exactly do you think these (selfish) behaviors would lead?
No gardens, no teleport stones and unfortunately, no bedrolls that was the original plan .
We all lost, but it’s only on us to blame here, not Funcom, we are incapable to co exist and use common logic on public servers!
That may be right; I can’t say because they didn’t make note that they were making a change. Patch notes are important and this should have been included.
Another option is giving the basics (bedroll and campfire) their own tag that allows them to be placed in otherwise no build zones. I can see problems with that and it would need something more than just a tag that’s probably more effort than Funcom can/will make.
Either way, they need to acknowledge when they make changes like this.
Sorry buddy, but you’re not making a lot of sense here. The fact is these people built in a place that was allowed to be built in, probably were considerate of their fellow server residents but now with the newest update got turned into a no build-zone without warning or mention.
That now being the case it has become a bit of an uncertain situation, as they can’t change anything now about their base except to remove it and rebuild elsewhere. That or keep that base forever frozen in its final state. Which is a pain to the average player.
Also, leaving it up is an uncertain thing. It’s not like the base got deleted by the system, but could people report them for now having a building in an area you literally can’t build in anymore all of a sudden?
This is just another issue caused by the newest update with one sides decisions that have not been communicated. Not for deliberation, not as a warning. Just one of many surprises for people to find out and scratch their heads at.
I think age of sorcery is long time ago. I think much less players play now then then. I think it did lead to what you’re saying. Players built there for convenience. Without developer changing their attitude and start communicating. We could be thinking many different reasons.
But this is somehow important. Because existing buildings still standing there, now in no build zone. Will this lead to a ban? Or can we keep it?
In pve it could stay for years…
Oh my dear @Bambere, it’s on Zendesk that people changed, no other reason .
You should have seen the servers on 2019, you simply cannot imagine the chaos!!!
Selfishly…
Like they are the only players in this server…
And people will report the ones that have a tp stone there just to be able to put their own…
One word… Jungle!
It’s ok, no problem.
2 things
I am not sure if I get you right, but I built there because it was possible. I am not whining because I have to move but I whine because nobody told me I have to. As you quoted: “we will notify players…“.
And for not restrict valuable content, this is (in my case) the base in question, the whole of it…
I will move tomorrow just in case. On the plateau I am at the screenshot were two other small but fully equipped bases (we made a clan recently) which are gone already. And there were at least two other people with temporary huts in the past few weeks, so room enough…
I think they expand the nonbuildable area to include the path upwards but went a little bit overboard.
I do get this point. I really do.
Did you get mine?
Did you understand why nobody should buikd there.
Do you agree that our gaming community lacks of common sense?
If it’s a bug and not a feature, will you fight about common sense, or feel a fool that someone else build there.
My statements are going generally, not against individuals. I have nothing personal with you or anyone else, it’s gaming time, it should be fun. But we all must be aware of our actions not to ruin other people fun.
See it generally please, not personally. And you’re not speaking with a person that didn’t make mistakes in this game, but i tried to learn something from them.
I am no better than you fellow exile @fx801p, neither i am against you.
I think it depends on where exactly you built. I have a small outpost there, as do some others on my official server. They’re all still intact as of the last update. Nothing has changed that I’m aware of.
Also why is rebuilding viewed so negatively? In pvp, it’s a necessity to rebuild, in PvE, it’s the only source of infinitely different content. So what if you gotta move? Get over it and enjoy the new variable now in the game. Yeah it sounds crass but it’s essentially what I got when I complained about being affected by the forced server transfer and it ended up being fun in the end.
Also just remember officials are not yours. They are solely FCs. If you want more control over server admin functions (like where no build zones will be), create your own private server.
wow, this thread escalated quickly
on every server I’ve played on there were only a few small outposts with teleporters around there, still plenty of places for folks to put down bedrolls, and typically someone had a maproom nearby. it was a nice quality of life thing to have teleporters and a maproom nearby since this is one of the few dungeons not particularly close to an obelisk. I’ve never seen anyone complain about builds up there, so i cant imagine it was large enough of an issue to block all building up there
@stelagel
I built an outpost there because it’s close to the already crowded siege fortress. Also it’s close to elephants, two boss crocs and a boss spider.
If these are selfish reasons then I have a few selfish outposts.
@erjoh
Relocating is something I enjoy. I’ve already moved. I’ve been on this PVE-C server since release so it’s kinda necessary to change things up once in a while.
If the general forum community got its way, half the map would be no-build zone.
because it’s close to the already crowded siege fortress
Sinkhole obelisk from Al Mera yah is maximum 1 minute riding and absolutely no real threat in all the way both for thralls and lvl 60 players.
Don’t get the message wrong fellow exile, get the essence of the conversation. Do you really need it? I would understand, hey i play on pvp servers and i need a tp stone.
But in other modes an open maproom close to each obelisk is more than enough especially for Savanah activities.
These constructions close to camps spawned like mushrooms all over the place do not help the gaming experience. So here we are to discuss it and all of us act better, including me. Do you think i haven’t done these mistakes in the past?
I do understand some outposts in really distant from Obelisks locations. I adore tp stones that gave the option to build away from Obelisks and be fast and effective, but the tp stone is going out of hand on officials, don’t you think?
What I don’t understand is they give you a smaller footprint teleporter and so what does everyone do? Creates a big fancy large structure that is equal or greater than a map room footprint
