Bug Description:
Thralls don’t respect personal space and refuse to attack enemies until they separate. I’m thinking this is a hygiene problem bc Funcom didn’t make a nude bathing emote for the Settlements chapter.
Pay attention to their settings: follow, attack, chase and whether or not they are aggressive, defensive or passive.
in following, separate them by 5 meters. Typically the weaker of the two closest to you.
Example: you at 0 meters; Follower 1 at 5 meters; Follower 2 at 10 meters.
Also, you don’t want them to chase any farther than they would attack.
But you would compensate attack ranges so they would converge on a target from their respective rage.
Try to keep them between 10 and 20 meter attack range in open spaces. Less if in closed in spaces such as dungeons.
Adjust positions accordingly depending on the situation you anticipate.
Be wary of the “irritate” perk.
Extra word of extreme caution: Be very wary of friendly fire damage. Set that to minimal to prevent accidental deaths
All other settings are default except defense. They were told to attack, repeatedly. And you can clearly see they are next to the enemy (in range). This also didn’t happen once but for every encounter where the two were merged. They will run to the enemy and then stand there, perhaps discussing how they don’t want to harm each other since their attacks might not just hit the enemy. Who knows.
I recently watched a YT Content creators run on the Well of Hellos (intentional) where his two Berserkers (IIRC) behaved exactly the same. So for once, it’s not just me.
Don’t know if it makes a diff but they one is a rescued crafter. The other is Syra, a rescued dancer.
Set them to aggressive so you won’t have to order them to attack.
Disable the irritate perk.
Increase their attack distance.
Set their attack ranges different.
(With this specifically set to different distances they will typically aggro apart from each other and not simultaneously).
I’m telling you; that works for my followers.
But there are certain thralls, that no matter what you do, they will just act stupid and the only thing you can do is avoid having them follow you because they are only a liability.
Are you using any mods?
Furthermore, I would’t bother calling it a bug. it’s developer stupidity.
But try this.
Set both attack ranges to max AND agressive. Have one follow you at 5 and the other follow you at 10. But make damned certain the follow behavior is set to AGGRESSIVE.
Go get into some trouble and see what they do.
If they stand there and do nothing.. let them die.
If they fight, maybe they are worth their salt and worth keeping.
