There is No purge in pVe servers
Build a Coffer, then add at least one gold or silver coin to it, and proclaim your wealth.
First of all, welcome to the forum 
There is a purge system, think of it like when you order a pizza to be delivered, you decide what pizza you want, a better pizza with more stuff on it requires more money.
It is sort of the same with the purge now.
First you have to place a treasure coffer and fill it with treasures or gold and silver coins/bars, the higher value your treasure has the higher level of purge you can order and have delivered to your base.
The purge does have some requirements that has to be met, they need a clear path to your coffer and a good amount of available sort of flat space close to your base for their camp, otherwise they refuse to come and attack you 
it’s purge-on-demand now… yes I know it’s kind of stupid, even though I like the concept of the treasury system. I do wish there was a happy medium though. the whole point of the purge was to put pressure on bases so servers don’t stagnate, not just so people with big bases can get even richer.
not trying to be a whiner, there’s definitely things about the new system I like a lot. I just think it could be improved.

Def agree with Gilgamesh here. It does kind of defeat the purpose if players are in direct control of when it happens. I imagine there could be a hybrid of this new system and the old, where having treasure triggers a countdown meter, while the speed at which that meter tics is determined by how much or how little treasure you do have.

Also, the new burglar version of the Purge seems to be very picky about targeting bases. Even if you have the wealth of Fort Knox in your outhouse, if the Purge can’t find a suitable spot for their own camp or an open path to the treasure, they won’t even bother trying. The Stygian Invaders’ Union has pretty strict regulations.
if they don’t have at least two snackbars with vegans options and 15 minute breaks every hour, they’re not showing up
It is true that the new purge system is interesting but because there is a but, it does not represent real threats in the sense that you decide whether or not it takes place.
The old system had the advantage of placing a sword of damacles on your head, you had no control over it.
Now in addition to deciding whether it triggers or not you even choose the threat level.
