NPC’s Corpses Are Going Invisible

Game mode: Single-player
Type of issue: Bug
Server type: PvE
Region: Aust

[Describe the bug here]

When I kill an NPC, some of their bodies become invisible (happens about 2/3rds of a time) and sometimes just the hair is visible. This started happening yesterday afternoon (Eastern Standard Australian time), I do not know if the 8th May Patch had been installed yet. It is not happening to critter Corpses. The Corpses are still there, if you can find them they can be looted and harvested.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Kill an NPC
  2. See if the body disappears
  3. If not kill some more, after three you should you will know it the bug is there.

This is a new, and very annoying bug. Corpses, mostly from human npcs, are there where they fall, but they don’t show, they are like “under” the terrain mesh. Most of the time they are lootable and interactable with, if you remember the spot they fell dead, but when you have engaged more than one in combat, it’s a hard find-and-click game to get anything off the corpses.

This is a different bug (I think) than the usual turn around and corpse disappears bug that has been happening since a long time. Which is annoying, but can be solved re-rendering the area by running away a fair distance and coming back.

Please have a look at this?

Edit: I haven’t noticed it happening on animals, but haven’t tested too thoroughly to be honest. Seems it happens only with humans?

known issue but thank you for the report: Anniv update - enemies sinking in ground geometry

Just as an addition, it seems like after the most recent patch the player character’s body also glitches in and out rapidly during character creation, both when finalizing your character creation, and during the cutscene when drinking from Conan’s water skin after being freed from the cross.
