The current npc stunlock they can do to the player is god awful, and i don’t remember it being this bad a few months ago, a tier 1 cook with daggers should never be stunning a heavily armoured player with ever attack, no npc should have a stun effect with almost every single attack, yes i get we need to roll but the fact that a lot of npcs can fight thru our attacks and then use the exact same attack to stun us is a little ridiculous. Also the fact there is a new thrall perk that lets thralls fight thru stunning affect more but not one for the player is kinda a slap in the face, what I’d like to see is a major reduction in npc stunlock, or atleast let us fight thru the odd npc stagger effect the same way they do to a lot of our attacks, I’m open to any different suggestions as well for this to add to it or change it.
l2p kiddo
A hur hur hur good one that’s literally what people see when people like you post, “kiddo”
Not even worth a proper reply
Sorry, but he’s right. It’s a L2P issue. This isn’t a run of the mill MMO where you just stand toe to toe and slap each other in the face.
Roll out of it and time your attacks around theirs. Don’t attack after they’ve already begun their swing. Wait for an opening. With proper timing, you can even stunlock them and prevent them from attacking.
The only one’s I’ve ever had any real trouble with are the heavy hitters that can knock you down and begin another attack before you’ve gotten back up and can move again. Scorpion bosses for example. Once you get back up you’ve only got a fraction of a second to get out of range before the next attack hits you. And if you don’t succeed, it will either kill you or leave you pretty badly hurt.
Thanks Glurin, you actually answered like a proper person so i can reply to this, lol, my old ■■■ hates the “kiddo” stuff so i didn’t reply a real answer to the first poster there
what part I’m mainly confused with is a heavy armor user beings stunlocked like crazy by a cook with daggers. But use those same attacks and even get the first strikes in and those npcs barely take the same stagger that they give to you I’ve noticed and can fight thru it, for me it wouldn’t be a big issue if we were equal grounds with the things npcs can do (not the health or damage they do)
I’ve tried all the weapons and none of them are on equal terms with the stunlock the npcs can do with the same weapon (I’m on console to if that makes any difference)
There isn’t a perk for thralls that give them additional resistance against stunning effects. I believe this was showed in an early build of the thrall leveling system but was scrapped before it got released.
Ah your totally right, it was knock out effects i just went and checked, i thought they made it so your thralls can’t be knocked out by other players anymore tho, so i guess that perk is kinda useless
rock paper scissors
spears outrange daggers, and stun-lock NPCs quite well.
The most annoying thing is when I stagger combo a npc they always manage to hit in between my attacks ending up in a full combo on my character…
When a player gets staggerlocked it is impossible to hit in between a npcs full convo.
Might be the latency, but it is still annoying.
The worst is getting stuck in a corner with 10 skeletons all consecutively stun locking you until you’re dead lol
Hint: don’t get yourself in to a corner. When is that ever good?!
Ermagersh youre so witty! Thank you!
I think what he is referring to is how they have NOT started their attack, and you go into an attack, a combo attack, and you get your first hit in, and your second hit is just about to start, but they are not stunned, and begin a combo on you, stunning you, and you can’t do anything about it. This happens to me a lot, but it doesn’t kill me. More of an annoyance than anything. I simply kill them after they finish their combo, then heal up.
It is what it is. I don’t think there is an easy solution. Getting rid of this would just make it easier to kill everything, and everything is already easy to kill. But then, I have flawless epic armor, and legendary weapons. Plus, my thrall has 71 strength at level 17, and has a Sword of Crom. He literally one shot kills named fighters like the Black Hand Captain.
