I entered the Sunken City dungeon and while trying to get to the surface of the water i died near one of the temples. When i came back to the location where i died my corpse wasn’t there. I searched around that location and found nothing. I have lost a full set of Cimmerian Steel epic gear which took me about a week to get and i have been playing the game for about three weeks…
Dying underwater is funny, but only if you look back on it. When it happens it sux. Condolences.
Mine happened trying to get back to the top of a deep dive and frankly, I was not paying attention to the breath meter. Not an instance, the brimstone and treasure chests near Xel-ha.
It was night when I returned to find my corpse and I went to the top/bottom three times, dark as hell, with a glowstick. No joy.
The fourth time as I was rising, I caught a glimpse off to the side and my gravestone was suspended 2/3s of the way to the top. Never expect it to retain neutral buoyancy
Swam to the corpse and straight up to get air, then straight down to loot my corpse. Voila !
Moral of the story: do not expect your corpse on the top or the bottom of the water.
