Ive noticed alot of complaints abouts server crashs , and ive realized over time on many servers, the crashs are caused by the players.
I have a 10 man clan… we share two seperate bases… these bases have less than 1000 building pieces , placables , etc in total. We have almost everything in the game, and many…many hours invested in the game. We are in the works of packing up one base due to not being as active as we used to be.
Prior to 3.0, the server was almost wiped (building violations etc) for a good 3 weeks, quick load in times… no crashs… no complaints…
But then you have solo players building massive bases for an animal pen, a few deer , and a croc.
You have players building every alter, for no purpose other than to show off (any player with experience knows you only need 4 of them outside pvp)
You dont need 100 torchs around your base, turn up gamma and you can basically see in the dark. And that new tree in the battle pass… sandstone bases with the silkwood forests inside them. The sound file over laps when you have 50 trees in your base. It sounds like a murder of crows tied to a ceiling fan.
I can spot inexperienced players from a mile away, and I try to help them, direct them to the build rules, explain why they are causing an issue. But in the end, we have to report them.
And to be frank, If your are not playing this game on a next gen xbox, dont waste your time. If you come in range of any large base you will disconnect. You need a next gen system to play this game.
I started this game with an OG xbox , when the game crashed every hour… The Devs have done an amazing job trying too accomidate its fan base. This is a large, open world game, with 1000s of different things happening in the server every second from crafting to farming, and slaying… give credit where credits due! Great job Funcom!!
