Old Purge System

Anyone else here miss the old Purge system where it’s determined by how much you’re playing the game? Instead of a manually triggered event? I miss a lot of thing, honestly. The eclipse, the purge. Sometimes I wish we could have a setting to re enable stuff like that.

If you’re on PC single player / private server then I do have a mod that adds a similar system :man_shrugging:
There’s no “re-enabling” it though as it has been completely scrapped from the game, so even my system is made from scratch to have “similar” functionality, but it’s not the exact same thing.

The only reason I would like to see the old system is because now it’s common for clans to sit there and get tons of thralls that just sit there and cause further lag. to easy to get thralls but I guess everything is to easy now

I see where there was a type of benefit to the old purge.
I may be wrong, but it seemed to be a “fail-safe” to overbuilders.
At least, that was my original impression.

When it became a “purge on demand”, that changed everything.

It wasn’t, you only needed to leave and rejoin your clan, or rest a bit.
It was really easy to stop or make it happen whenever you wanted.

What would be nice and really help curtail overbuilding, is if it truly was random and without an indicator of when it would spawn.

A long time ago I suggested a periotic purge that would target large structures or dormant builds. Dormant builds to help cut down on serial refreshers.
Also points of interest and common pathways could be targeted if they were built upon.

Given enough time to build a fort and raise a small army, the purges were fun. The last original purge I had was Frost Giants, with one Frost Giant and plenty of Aesir and Sabretooths. No Aesir Warriors spawned but plenty of named crafters and Dances With Bears in The Exiled Lands did, and were taken to a wheel of friendship.
