On official PvP server why NOW build anything? answer devs? Big thrall nerf

I agree, why build a base?

Log out on remote cliffs, steal\kill for what you need. No thralls required.

They should add pvp servers for solo players only, with the nerf plus the disable avatars big clans are going to keep doing what they please and killing the fun for solo players as they are doing for so long.

I have suggested this as well. Even stated how i feel clans hurt PVP officials, and promote the claim spamming, obbie blocking, and mob resource imbalance.

You are telling the truth about have no experience as a PvP on a PvP server. So, again you have no idea what you are talking about. On a PvP server archers for example suck and they they are expected to be even worse because PvE PLAYERS COMPLAIN ABOUT HOW THEIR T4 THRALLS ARE TOO POWERFUL! Just get a T1 thrall and stop asking for freaken nerfs!

Even if the thralls inside were artisan style like crafters? I was thinking about that today. Arrow launching turrets, maybe some slingshot type things to launch various orbs…it could be fun.

The thing about crafter thralls is that they don’t have any server-side AI. The crafting process simply speeds up and/or requires less materials.

Manned siege cauldrons could be implemented without AI, the same way that I assume explosive traps work: an NPC or a player intersects with some invisible collision volume and the cauldron gets triggered.

But any active static defense, like manned ballistae, would require some AI to acquire a target and aim at it. It should be somewhat less computationally expensive than a follower, but still a lot more expensive than an explosive trap or a palisade.

It’s not a nerf, is a balance :^)
I’m tired of explaining why that’s not an option but looking at you attitude i guess that would be pointless anyway.
And i have played in PvP servers, they just don’t fit my playstyle preference, so, as far as i can tell, not only in this game but from every personal experience, numbers matter. If you really want to play pvp solo, maybe what you should do is avoid official servers, that could also help (^:

Really? Point me in the direction of anything Funcom has said that makes it clear that they implemented that change due to PVE players’ complaints about how T4 thralls make the game too easy, as opposed to PVP players’ complaints about getting one- or two-shotted by T4 archers.

There are plenty of threads about how it’s “ridiculous how you get one-shotted by an archer”, but sure, let’s blame PVE players for everything.

Sure numbers matter but the fact is there is NO way to defend a base in PvP! Bases by game default are very weak. And to make Thralls even weaker will even further weaken the base defense. A castle, either manned by solo dedicated player, small clan or large toxic clan, should be a very intimidating structure to attack. As it is now these structure are but a speed bump to overcome before looting the base. Do not get me started on raids with 1000 explosives! Bases, need to be stronger…that is a fact. Or there is absolutely no reason to have one on an official PvP server.

The only PvP players complaing about T4 thralls are the toxic clans that like to off hours raid a base that is guarded by 50 thralls. They want these guarding thralls weaker to make the raid faster and less costly.

So any PVP player that disagrees with you about whether T4 thralls are overpowered or not is automatically a toxic alpha clan player who only raids offline?

Yeah, I’m with @Cyryus now, there’s no point in trying to reason with you.

Offline raiding is the real trouble with defending. If you are online you can usually repair faster than someone can damage.

How about this crazy idea - new thrall type called a sentry. Maybe he holds a torch. You place him in your base and if any part of your land claim gets attacked then that information is sent to the owner via an email lol. Then they can decide if they should hop on to defend if they are available.

Watching the fight club and saving resources.

You need to learn how to build bases on pvp official by the sounds of it … plenty of locations that require you to only re-place 2-6 foundations to stop the raiders ! Even if they get in … there’s ways to block them in … build smart
