Bug Description:

Setting triangle foundations on several planes will allow the overlapping of foundations

Bug Reproduction:

  1. Build triangle foundation
  2. Use fence foundation to drop foundation level by 3 more steps for a total of 4 rows
  3. Remove levels 2 and 3 and rebuild foundations on the lower 4th step to meet the 1st foundation at the higher level
  4. Ability to add a foundation within a foundation based on previous steps and can stack on top of each other

Does not work for regular square foundations but it can be seen here that the foundation ghost is trying to snap:

Dear Funcom, please note - this is not a reason to remove the ability to step foundations up and down, nor is it a reason to remove wedge foundations from the game entirely. All that is needed is to fix the potentially exploitable overlapping that is being reported. It would be nice to think this goes without saying, but current experience suggests otherwise.

There’s been something really wrong with the system from AoW 3. I think it is tied in somehow to the changes for stability checks to a degree as well. I reported back in Jan that I could green ghost a ceiling freestanding in the air - sort of like the exploit to create skybases. It wouldn’t place which is terrific but it shouldn’t even allow me to ghost it!

An aftereffect of this created the problem that I and others reported that attempting to place building pieces fail - especially when stepping. Insomuch as causing game crashes.

I built a very ambitious base entirely in triangle foundations recently and I don’t really know if it is still worth a bug report. I had a hell of a time trying to place ANYTHING once there was more that 50 building pieces in the vicinity. I had to cheese the building system by using unconventional methods such as placing a doorframe and then replacing it with a wall. That type of stuff. Otherwise it would not even ghost or would cycle around like strobe lights.
