"Pak file corrupt or tampered with" Crash in Single Player

UPDATE

I was able to load my single player game by unsubscribing to all my mods. for some reason, turning off the mods through the launcher was not enough to actually deactivate them.

Basic Info:

Platform: PC
Storefront: Steam
Issue Type: Crash

Mods: None (turned off all mods I was using)

Bug Description:

During single player loading screen the game crashes with the error message:
‘Pak file corrupt or tampered with. Please use steam option "Verify integrity of game files’ to repair game install. Exiting…
After I verify the files, my single player game still crashes. I can play on an official server (& I just played on my single player last night) but my single player game keeps crashing…

Bug Reproduction:

Launch game → Singleplayer/Co-op → Continue → Play in single-player → Exiled Lands Continue. game beings loading then crashes

Another Update:
a friend had issues similar to this. He tried to delete mod files as well, but he still go the crash.

He ended up having to launch on an official server, have the game restart & dump the mods, click on my server with mods, have the game restart & re-grab the mods & enter the game.

it seems that Exiles is not correctly cleaning out old mod files & downloading updated mod files. It doesn’t seem to validate them consistently.
