PC Hotfix (18.11.2019) - Exploit fix

1111

This update made me consider just deleting and cancelling server after 6 months. Some players lost half their buildings, thralls changed. G-portal is absolutely trash and all those updates are as well. Seriously very bad.

Can’t believe I am about to say this, but I think I may need to find a new handle. Or maybe just shorten my name to Chick. If the devs don’t realize this was a mistake after looking at the numbers, then I’m pretty sure on my decision. Realizing that I lost 80+ hours in the last week for absolutely no reason at all is the reality check I needed. I had heard Funcom did not care about their most loyal customers, but, I never believed it. I thought, “Quit whining you buncha babies!” But after this week and then doing research on other times the devs had either made false promises or withheld information, possibly for profit, I have absolutely no motivation to play the game. Conan Exiles will always be my first and most favorite game, filled with good memories, but I think it’s time to move on. Good memories do not pay bills. Time does. With all the stress I endure IRL and time I spend while working (which is wasted in my opinion, working for things that were provided on this Earth), there’s just no way I can spend the hours of free time I DO have of free time (that I like to be moderately stress free), as time wasted. I cannot dedicate time to a game who’s devs refuse to listen to their community. Please go watch FlyHacks’ new video. It explains this way better than I can. Let us all start over so Conan can be great again.

Alright people. Let’s all take a step back and breathe.
We understand the frustration of those affected by exploits, and those who lost a few days of progress with the rollbacks.
But you need to step back and look at the bigger picture, where many players lost months of progress in a whim. When it came to the decision of either letting those months of progress get lost, or 4 days, we chose for four days. There was no option that didn’t impact anybody negatively, but this one was clearly the one with a softened impact. We do still acknowledge it was not an easy decision, and any loss of progress is frustrating.
Those servers that lost ALL their progress and suffered a full wipe, that was unintentional and as a result of a database malfunction during the rollback and update. Those servers will be restored to the previous databases soon.
