Yesterday, we released an update (1.2.0) for Conan Exiles Enhanced. Unfortunately, this update introduced several major bugs, including a collision bug causing item loss on dedicated servers.
We have therefore decided to roll back to the previous game version (1.1.2). This rollback will happen sometime today. I will provide updates as soon as I have a clear release time.
We did not take this decision lightly, as we are aware that rollbacks can be disruptive to the player experience.
As a small bonus, we will also double the XP and gathering rates on all dedicated servers.
As always, we appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to resolve these issues.
EDIT:
Rollback is currently in process and it will take a bit of time before it becomes available to all players.
Sorry guys. I understand how bad this is on your side. Thanks for the hard work you all put in last night trying to stabilize and fix the issues. Rollbacks are never good, but sometimes they happen, and I appreciate that you chose to roll it back rather than force the community to live with a broken update.
Why ?! Now the servers was less laggy when u did pvp, so now u wanna make it a lag fest again ? Omg what about u guys fix the lagg, fix the undermesh, fix the speed hack glitch atm… but yea guess I have more hours played then u have working on the game
Please lower the frequency of patches. This may sound ungrateful, and counter the idea of workplace productivity, but as we all know quality is over quantity.
I love that the devs are actively participating in maintaining the game.
However, please consider this.
Many of the modders are trying to catch up with their mods, and every time it’s patched, every mod becomes outdated, and changes may effect more strings of code than other which means these people have to work doubly harder to maintain their mods while they also do this stuff for free. Many of these modders AFK for months at a time nowadays seeing they may not be as active as they were a few years ago.
The other reason is a situation like this.
Now, again, we appreciate the effort, but I spent like 4 hours last night with some of the time I have off to upgrade my set, and I was informed by players that the rollback will reset our progress. That’s time I do not have commonly.
Helldivers 2 has a terrible problem where they have set their updates annually and before testing and applying these patches, they send these updates out with their warbonds and break the game horrendously. Of course, unlike Arrowhead, Funcom appears to aim to fix their issues immediately, but the main issue here is that if there’s going to be an update every month, there’s alot of problems that will arise from this as this new version of the game continues to go forward.
All the real gamers appreciate the efforts, we love you guys, but let’s give the modders & players the ability to adjust. TL;DR, please slow down the frequency of updates.
Deep Breath I am glad folks are getting their pixel dust back, I am not pleased that everything I’ve done recently is for naught. Mostly grumpy about the hours of farming Tephra including the buildup of the area I was doing in between spawns.
Just when I was about to forgive you guys for everything. insert facepalm here
Don’t do this again. Start properly and THROUGHLY testing before you roll things out.
Private server owners not only invest a ton of time into this game, they spend a lot of money maintaining their servers. They spend money on the cash shop to enhance the atmosphere of their servers. And it feels very clear that Funcom/Tencent don’t care about that at all. Nor for the modders that are the life’s blood of the private server world. Spending countless hours and their own money on assets. No one has to do this. But if they didn’t there would be a whole lot less people playing your game and spending money on the cash shop. Please start acting like you realize this.
Okay seriously? This is actually ridiculous. I’m not even sure if there’s a dev team or if they just run code through chatgpt and say “yeah, looks good!”
Half of the gamepad controls don’t work properly anymore but I can split stack again. Can’t turn benches on and off with the left trigger anymore.
Completely nerfed the BSE health stat so now they’re semi-useless and not much better than other similar tiered thralls.
I mean yeah the game ran a little bit smoother. But now you’re gonna roll all that back and we’re gonna lose how much progress? How many items? And all you’re offering is an XP boost when most of us are already level capped in our servers? Not to mention there has been no addressing the ridiculous level 61 exploit.
You know how many times a day I see people ask when we can see clanmates on the map again? Where’s that fix? But oh boy at least we can dye saddles now and have iron hoods I guess.
If you guys keep going like this then conan will have less active players than Dune and that’s saying something.
I want to say that I love Funcom and I appreciate all the hard work and the positive things about this patch. It had and still has a lot of potential, it just clearly wasn’t thought through or tested enough.
I know mods are a fraught reality that game developers have to deal with, but another reality is that Conan Exiles is mainly played on private servers with mods, and this is largely responsible for it’s logevity and success.
I am NOT saying that PvP players on official servers don’t need equal love and attention, but maybe don’t kill the goose that lays the golden eggs–especially in a way that doesn’t even benefit or affect the PvP players on official servers.
Anywho, I want to sincerely thank y’all at Funcom for both the positive work that went into the patch and for the rollback.
I’m feeling better about all the money I recently spent in the Bazaar
It’s hard not to be a little frustrated knowing that many of us spent hours building, gathering, and progressing after the update, only to potentially see all of that work disappear. The double XP and harvesting rates are appreciated, but they don’t really replace the time invested. Hopefully future updates receive a bit more testing before they reach the live servers.
Was REALLY looking forward to 1.2.0. after reading the list of bug fixes in the patch notes - especially the much-needed attention on gamepad/controller support!! - but it sounds like it needs more time to cook first.
No problem. Thank you for rolling it back to where it was playable, and thank you also for your continued attention to this game!
FWIW, at this point I think most players are primarily interested in bug fixes as a top priority, so don’t be afraid to take it easy on introducing new features quite so often. Take your time!
I agree, spent most of the night farming and gathering the recipes i needed lol i guess gotta go do it all over again but hopefully the next time it gets uploaded it will work hella better
