During the forum bonfire in late November/early December about all the un-announced changes in the patch notes, Ignasis explicitly stated that un-announced changes should be considered bugs and reported as such.
Additionally, I just checked the patch notes again and dodging while encumbered should not be allowed. I checked this myself on testlive a few weeks ago and it was working as intended. And yet, at least two people that I know have (you’re one of them) has mentioned that you can still dodge while over-encumbered in production.
So either the patch notes that Ignasis was given to post here do not match what the devs intended to deploy to production, what the devs deployed to production does not match what they intended to deploy or some combination of both.
In any case, this patch is a hot mess (though not as bad as it was when they first put it on testlive).
I do generally like the shield and stamina changes though.
@Ignasi by the way, the same comment on Reddit has a quite good statistic.
Well, maybe I do a few more good posts about Conan Exiles glitching game, who knows…
@Ignasi, just out of curiosity, were there any additional optimizations done? The Exiled Lands server I play on is performing much better and nothing massive changed on the server itself (i.e. no massive builds decayed and the server population is about the same). It used to regularly suffer from lag spikes when riding around certain bases, with server FPS going down to single digits and staying there for a notable time. Now it’s purring like a kitten and the worst I got were a couple of 1-second spikes where the server FPS went down to 20.
If this is due to optimization, congratulations and thanks to the devs
Related to the stuttering/lag after update. Things I’ve noticed:
It stutters regardless of the resolution/settings. Even on Low settings on Dual GTX 980 it stutters.
Doesn’t seem anything related to overflowing VRAM (filled 98% stutters, filled 65% stutters)
Lot’s of writings (yes writings) on the HDD (raving like crazy). Same sectors.
So, at a first glance looks like reading textures from the drive. But I think is more related to writings on game.db. If that’s the case, changing the journaling size of the sqlite3 db could be the solution.
In a SSD it stutters but is less noticeable.
Note: If you type in console “stat unitgraph” you view the latency graph (…as a new user I cannot upload images to show that…)
Using a private server - i. e. a laptop standing right next to me - I don’t have any stuttering or frame drops, or at least haven’t seen any so far. Maybe it’s not connected to the update, but to something that changed with the servers? Is that on officials only?
Am guessing it’s only Official or select server host companies - and possible slower connections out there?
The only times I get any lag on my private servers is (a) sometimes when logging in first time per day (resolved by hopping back to main menu and straight back in), and (b) when running up to mega-bases. My servers have mods so any issues on that front are not unexpected.
I never have stuttering issues in the game-towns, medium bases or dungeons.
We’re adding a new change into the patchnotes that just has been confirmed to be part of the build. It is an intended change but was left out of the patchnotes due to miscommunication. (also shoutout to @Narelle who brought it up during Testlive).
Under balance changes:
Penetration values of “Oil of Penetration” and “Spiked Weapon Fitting” have been lowered (down by 5%).
Further to Ignasis’ post and to avoid confusion:
Oil of Penetration: +20% now vs +25% before
Spiked Weapon Fitting: +10% now vs +15% before
Master Weapon Fitting remains at 12%
Hi, does anyone have a soluton to the low FPS (lagging) issue after the update 2.2.?
I have it with and without mods.
its nearly unplayable and is a pain in the ■■■…
thanks for your feedback!
Make report about it we were told in testlive that these “ghost nerfs” to a lot of weapons and trust me there were a crap ton in test live @Narelle can confirm this as there are lots of threads made by them about it… they are unintended a lot of times. Now we do know it happens that nerfs don’t get put in patch notes but instead of putting it in this long thread make a report on it and any other weapon nerfs you find so it can be clarified as a nerf done on purpose or a bug.
Hey, having also lag spike issues every 3-5 second even if im just standing still. Graphic settings or higher fps makes no difference. Everything worked perfectly but after 2.2 update it was just horrible. I’m playing on singleplayer co-op server. I hope there will be a fix for the problem soon, cant play the game because its unplayable right now
