Pet Rhinos stand on top of player and get them stuck

Game mode: [Online official]
Type of issue: [Bug]
Server type: [PvE]

Rhinos will closely follow players and often this means the player will get stuck in them (enemies also sometimes get stuck, which I’m sure is also unintended). If you’re in an area where thralls are allowed, that’s not a huge problem because you can manually move them, but if you’re in a no-thrall area, your only recourse is to take off your bracelet or hope an NPC shows up eventually to catch your follower’s attention.

It isn’t strictly a rhino problem either - I had it happen earlier tonight with a thrall when I rolled into the spot it was moving towards.

Can we please get something like a “shove” action that prompts a follower to walk around a bit?

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Have rhino pet follow you
  2. Get in fight, end fight
  3. Stand still
  4. Rhino will about as often as not try to line up right behind you, and you’ll be stuck under it

Okay, after an embarrassingly long time waiting for nearby thralls to respawn I happened to press jump and this fixed my problem in this instance. However, 1) that’s pretty unintuitive, 2) NPCs can still become stuck under rhinos, and 3) the underlying problem of getting stuck in/behind thralls in “no thralls allowed” areas still means your followers can box you into unescapable corners.

Hey @Zayzane

We’re aware of this lack of personal space policy on thralls and pets and we’re working on a few improvements to be released within the next two big content updates.
Until then we apologize for any overtly social behavior followers may exhibit.
