Ill get straight to the point , get rid of pvp servers , because if we are going to be honest pvp hasent had any love for several years now , i dont know if it was lack of resources or just straight up incompetence from funcom , but pvp isnt really a main feature that funcom have tried to fix or balance , all they have done over the years is make PvE more enjoyable while PvP has been forgotten about completely, for most of the balance changes that came to PvP where originally intended for PvE .
I would suggest to merge PvP and conflict into a new type of server . PvPvE mode where it merges both concepts into one , there would be no raiding what so ever , but you could still kill players and take there stuff during raid hours . That way funcom no longer has to deal with cheaters and Players can build more freely and not have to worry about spamming defence or claim .
Add more events to the game where players can either fight over it or fight together , like a boss that spawns once a day that drops unique items or learning scrolls ,or random events like defending a recovering merchant outside of sepemaru or help a hunter outside of asgarth , and depending on if you help them or kill them you could get different rewards .
Let me know what you guys think . P.s im a pvp player but stopped playing because of funcoms lack of communication with there player base and there extremely slow exploit/bug fixes.
That is quite the persecution complex you have there. PvP has had no love for several years now (*the game has only been out for 5.5), and quote: âmost of the balance changes that came to PvP were originally intended for PvEâ. Riiiiight.
PVP is built on the frame work PVE provides. The only real difference between PVE and PVP is obvious, you can damage fellow players and their builds.
As far as Iâm concerned funcom is always Fân with the battle stats. Always changing stamina, strength, weapon damage, armor, buffs and bonuses. I wish they would pick a lain and stay in it.
And the events you propose are already going on. Still a PVE thing. In fact ch3 of the AoW gives PVE players a, A keep to raid. Like public servers arenât lagging enough
So what do you want?
Better weapon balancing? And how would you do that?
Better battle animations?
More balanced servers?
I would like more interactive events , like i said a boss that atleast several players would need to join together to fight it , or events that have different outcomes depending on what you do, the new purge system is a step in a good direction , would be nice if they added diferent purge times since fighting the same faction over and over gets boring .
With balancing best way to put it is like funcom make a tomato sauce 1 week and tell everyone to try it and get used to it , then the next day they have changed there mind and started making a mushroom sauce
But i would personally have damage values be separated for both pve and pvp , and make it so each weapon has a positive and negative . And that they should just balance weapons with a 4 stat formula
Damage,range,recovery and attack speed.
Then just make it so a weapon can only have 2 of the 4 not all 4 like some weapons a,k,a spear , but they have stated there slowing down the heavy attacks so who knows
Your idea is to remove the most populated server type?
Iâve got some great news for you. The addition of the PVE-C server.
You havenât played the game this year have you? Events were added and players can fight over them if they wish. Unfortunately in my experience, players tend to⊠not want to fight over them. Not just in Conan, but in many other games. PVPers donât play like they did 20 years ago.
The day that players of both aspects of the game will be respectful to each other is the day that this game will succeed. Itâs not pvp fault pve is changing, itâs not pve fault pvp is changing. And most of all, itâs not players fault we have these changes.
The only reason things change is because they must, because itâs a game after constant progression and it changes just to keep the interest high.
All the aspects of the game endure issues, that means that all the players no matter the aspect, all the players âsufferâ .
There for we can all speak and give feedback for what we suffer and what we dislike. But never forget to give feedback for what you like too. Not to praise them for doing something right, but to make sure that this came to stay.
Instead of trying to create another pvp - pve war, try to make peace, understand each other needs and wish things without ignoring others.
Have a nice day @Zeatros thank you for most of your feedback, in a big part you have my support.
You have the luxury to give feedback from your wonderful videos. You donât need to speak more than your work and worry not, Funcom will not close the public servers because some veterans donât âagreeâ with the game anymore.
One thing we must not forget is that we are all guests in these servers. So in every change itâs our choice if we will play or not. If we donât like to play nobody is forcing us. And above all, these are the rules, take it or leave it.
You do realize that this server type has been around for ages and itâs called PvE-C, right? So you can simply start playing on one of those if you prefer that playstyle.
Why does their existence bother you? If you donât like them⊠donât play on them⊠nobody is forcing you.
Most Pvp servers on console are baron , may be diferent to pc but i dont know that , also from what i know most PvP is done on modded arenas or dedicated servers .
2nd no need to be smart .
Also i played the game this year and i know theres events , only thing is they are pointless to do and are boring , thats the reason no one does them
I always have this same thought , what is conan supposed to be ? A rpg , a survival game, a action adventure ? Does anyone actually know what conan is at this point? Like seriously think about it .
I personally think funcom thinks everyone plays this game like the Neebs crew and that pvp raids happen like in the trailers they do , which would be cool , not like how it actually is aka guerilla warfare
Game started out as a ark killer then has now became a weird roleplay singleplayer game with a delusional pvp community that still thinks the games going to get fixed , like i was one of them people before i just came to the realisation that why im i playing this game
When I started in April of 2017 it was survival, crafting and âdurableâ existence on a server.
As opposed to RUST which is looting, raiding and ephemeral and/or anonymized relationship with a server.
Conan Exiles has gone through a lot of stages where it indeed was Survival. It was really hard, and Funcom heard about it. In fact, the toughness was one of the things that was patched out with swiftness and severity. For a counter example, notable glitches affecting only PvP have taken many patch cycles to correct, whereas the âtoughnessâ went away in one, with a hotfix bandaid intervening. You couldnât make it above the river without hyenas lacerating you, and rhinos spearing you.
What has always been attractive to me, and in the case of my PvP friends I think I can speak about them generally, we like that itâs a base game that we inhabit. We take this beautiful PvE experience and make it into our own permutation, with no special settings other than the ones intended by the Dev Team. That kind of rollupoursleevesedness is what made PvP so great for so many years.
No matter what the mean players say, one cannot help but become attached to something in the world of Conan Exiles. In other words, eventually theyâll care as you tear down their castle and get to something meaningful. This is the distinction, in my opinion, what I mentioned as âdurableâ: if the playerbase doesnât care about their castles and gear, the game suffers. These days, people have little headspace to care so much, thus the PvP game is in a mean-spirited ebb.
The biggest problem was as they kept adding new areas (northern half of the map) they decided to spread out the difficulty. I remember very vividly when hyenas were very much like what corrupted wolves used to be, and rhinos you simply avoided. But that was when they were the highest level encounters in the game.
The way Funcom saw it, was that noob river was 1-10 and everything else was max level. Once you hit 10 you picked at the max level area until you could maintain it. That for some reason wasnât acceptable.
Fast forward a few years and the map is for levels 11-59 from everything north of the noob river with this slow difficulty crawl. I mean they got what they intended to do. A new player will find themselves able to slowly progress with some minor difficulty until they reach 60.
For veteran players, its just easy all the way.
And thatâs the problem. Youâre only really a newbie for your first few dozen hours of play. And any dedicated player will have hundreds or thousands of hours. We donât get the same survival challenge as a brand new player. But thatâs the paradox, a brand new player wonât get the same challenge either after playing for a bit.
Iâd like to see the game return to the roots where the newbie river is 1-10, and everything outside is 60. You donât live in the areas beyond till you can pick away at it enough to make it there. When you get a pack of hyenas running at you, your first instinct shouldnât be to right click twice. It should be âoh crapâ and frantically looking for a means of escape.
And while this is all PVE oriented stuff, it has a direct effect on PVP. Because when PVE is too easy, thereâs no investment in PVP. PVE needs to be returned to its survival roots for PVP to thrive, or the alternative is to remove PVE from the servers set as PVP. Which is a thing they can do now with the new respawnable bases. Take away the gathering stones and wood, the thralling and grinding, and all that PVE nonsense and just let a PVP player PVP every moment they are logged in.
Well hereâs the further paradox: when youâre using online PvP settings, itâs fairly easy to level to 60 in under 2 hours, 2.5 in a pleasurable way.
Our game makers canât create NPCs that are too tough for the fully-leveled player, thus when that obstacle is removed, PvE is moot and reduced to risk vs reward.
To be honest, itâs almost like Funcom declared âhereâs our artwork, take your bloody palette to it.â Any server is within easy, easy reach. Then after our first raid, we have a free castle anyway. At least a feint castle.
