You can easily uninstall and play other stuff and personally get the result you want. There’s no reason to hang around here. Don’t stick around for validation, its a waste of time.

Wasn’t the whole combat system they’ve been wrestling with for a while, the indefinite closure of transfers (aside from character loss), and constant rebalancing of weapons (most recently spears in the next chapter) all meant to be intended for PvP balance? :thinking:

I’m confused by this claim.

The combat change years ago was a general game improvement change , but after that most updates to weapons or perks have been to improve the pve experience . Also please tell me what they balanced and strictly said it was for pvp and not because it was either a bug or the thought the weapon wasent doing good.

Yeah going to a other game would be more beneficial than just being negative , but at the same time , hopefully funcom have learned from conan and wont make the same mistakes with dune

I would personally say they need to add more replayability to there pve events and general gameplay , make it so thralls need to eat or they will despawn , make it so you only get certain recipes from killing bosses or make them drips from thralls , like nordheimer and cemmerian thralls drop the blueprints to make the weapons and armor , because even from a lore point of view it makes no sense that the players character knows how to do all these things .

Thats just a small way you could add replayability to the game

I was going to post another thread but this one will do. AoW appears to have the purpose of bringing pvp experiences to PvE environments. The question is why? While I also loved pvp that @Barnes described, that hasn’t happened in officials in quite some time and the CE dev team can’t keep up with the amount of cheats , hacks and exploits that constantly pop up.

Also the amount of players on officials pvp is dismal (at least PlayStation)

This leads me to the theory that official pvp will be going away eventually and you can get your battle experiences in via purges and sieges. The PvEC issues with stability seem to be resolved and these servers are rolling in with easily 20 to 35 players while pvp is barely 3 on guestimate average. So I see the official servers being reallocated to move pvp to PvEC.

The spear coming up is a perfect example actually. Spears are meta in PvP and they’re increasing the windup time of the heavy hit to prevent spamming of heavy damage.

The siptah transfers got removed for two reasons: characters were occasionally being lost AND PvP players who didn’t own Siptah complained that it was p2w due to the equipment and resource advantages (which isn’t the case anymore).

The tower of the elephant challenge is tougher to complete because it requires TWO people to jump on a player’s head because running around over encumbered in PvP was meta.

Daggers got a blow to DOT if I recall because they were too meta for PvP. Feroxic daggers in particular I believe. Still good, but not as good as they once were.

Shall I go on? I’m sure there’s many more you’ve over looked.

I doubt this. There’s certain players who will never pick up the game again if they do. Now reduced number of PvP servers? That I could see.

There’s nothing pvp about this experience. If that was their aim, funcom missed the mark. I doubt it is achievable anyway, at least with this AI.
It could have been a fantastic age if the implementation was better, though.
I’m trying to find reasons to re-install the game for the 3rd chapter, but beyond the tavern, I am not seeing many… certainly not combat related at least.

The spear has finally got a animation slow after all this time which is just weird that they did it now after all this time , siptah transfers got removed because it created a unsafe environment where alphas could just transfer gods or dp to servers and cause mayhem which was killing the player base , daggers got nerfed not because of the players request but because there dmg numbers where wrong and the double poison was a bug that they also later fixed after to long, then the tower achievement could have been easily fixed but funcom choose to do stuff in the worst ways possible , literally all they had to do is make it so the overencumberd killing effect only works if you dont have the last encumbrance perk , simple . Fixes the gumba problem and keeps the achievement parameters the same .

My point is funcom dont balance they fix broken problems then act like it was a balance patch .

Example the katana special attack everyone always thought it just needed a dmg nerf , turns out the attack was bugged and done 4x the intended dmg .

Exactly im from xbox , ive played since preview and the numbers on official pvp atm are abysmal at most it 1 or 2 servers are full and the rest have 3 or 5 people on them .

The terrible AI and the no reason to replay dungeons or events makes pve boring after a time

That’s my point. They may not have done these changes at all if it weren’t for the PvP requests. You say that most of the changes come from PvE players, but you just invalidated that claim by proving my point. None of those changes were PvE-inspired. Whether you like to admit it or not, they came from a desire to fix PvP. And sure, they weren’t all done appropriately, but that doesn’t change the fact they were derived from the need to balance PvP, not for PvE.

Its not the spear, its the stamina change and attributes change in age of sorcery that made spear good for pvp.

Free updates are just something that they using, to remove existing content.
They say: " we’re gonna give you free updates. We remove shire light beam, remove god bubble, remove this and that.
Change the way game plays. Remove skill in pvp with stamina change.
I too think pvp is not important for developer to much.
This big castle they are bringing in game. Thats great for pve players to have something to attack.
I might be looking forward for flying camels. Almost like gta hower bike :joy:

You take a break when it becomes boring. I would be happy if it ran better on PS5. For me, this game serves to play “brutal Barbie” (it stuck @erjoh :smile:).
When I seek thrills, I look for them elsewhere, in actually hard games.
So, I’m kind of easy to please when it comes to CE, but funcom wasn’t even able to do that, at this point…

Oh I’m pretty critical… but I’m also a PvE player and I’ve seen plenty of PvP changes. You know, the grass is always greener on the other side and you clearly only see the negatives since you don’t pay much attention to all the PvP changes.

Literally only played on pvp servers , each patch had a one shot weapon or something broken . Sadly the grass in the pvp community is dead and people dont make it better by finding more exploits and bugs . Also dosent make sense that a pve player has seen pvp changes , seeing something is very diferent to experiencing it .
