The ping has been unusually high on a couple of my servers for about a week. Too high to join, play, and reset decay timers. Since this is affecting my whole clan which is from different parts of the US, we are confident it isn’t a local issue for any of us. We could potentially lose years worth of stuff on these servers.
Any idea why some pings went up dramatically? Are there any known workarounds for this issue?
1818, 1820, and 1882 are the ones I am concerned about if that matters to anyone.
There’s been a couple of posts and bug reports on this.
It is believed to be due to connection to Funcom Live Services.
Options appear to be:
Keep trying
Connect via VPN
Use free streaming services for a limited time such as GEForce Now

I tried the VPN and GeForce Now with no luck. I also tried connecting through Steam a few times like normal and no luck that way either. Any updates on y’all’s end?
Btw, I do smirk every time I see that my ping is fine for the servers on the other side of the world but not for many of the US servers, lol.
I haven’t experienced this ping issue myself so nothing to report on my end.
Community (Funcom staff) have stated they are aware though.

Wish I had a solution. I’ll add this in case it may be related and/or other people are experiencing. For the last few days on official servers, all in the US though that’s the only ones I play on so have no idea if others would be the same, every… single… time… someone else joins the server it will boot me off. Occasionally I’ll lag horribly for 15, 20 seconds then recover but usually I get booted.
I have seen reports of issues with ipv6 of late in several places. Again, no clue if that could be related but throwing it out there.
I went over a week with this issue.
Even on my consoles, ping was over 200.
I started on a new server where the ping was in the 80s.
I was worried about Decay, so I downloaded a free VPN. And connected no problem to my servers again. Except the new one was now over 200.
So oddly enough, my power went out one night overnight, and the next day, all my servers were under 100 again. (Without the VPN connected).
I haven’t had an issue yet. Coincidence, I hope so.

Yesterday afternoon I checked and I can access any server in the world, lol. All of them are under 200 ping which is normal for me without a VPN. Talked with some of my clanmates yesterday and the ones further north were back to normal on Wednesday.
A buddy of mine made a good point that some traffic is probably getting misrouted which would explain the higher pings from servers that are geographically closer to us. That’s a problem I wouldn’t want to troubleshoot, lol.
