Please pause decay timers through the weekend

Please pause decay timers through the weekend as the coin issue gets resolved.

Decay timers for both buildings and thralls will be doubled for the holidays until January 7th. These changes should take effect after the next round of server restarts tonight/next morning.

Thanks a lot Andy for caring, I really did not believe someone pays attention anymore.

This will save a lot of trouble for many players.

Yay! thanks!

hmm…don’t you need to log in for it to take effect? Since a majority of the “paying” customer base is currently banned, I see many builds crumbling due to decay if this isn’t resolved soon. Additionally, don’t think we forgot about the last time you messed with the timers…don’t put the interns/village-idiot in-charge of adjusting the numbers

It does suck, I’m well aware, but we’ve also been burned by funcom before on updates. Because of this, I’ve gotten to where I refresh everything the day before the update goes live. I strongly recommend everyone does this from here on out.

Hey there, unfortunately I have to nix my original reply here; we’re wary of pushing these changes on a Friday and will hold off until Monday at the earliest to adjust decay timers. Our intent is still to have increased decay timers for the holidays and into January, though. I’m sorry for my miscommunication.

Were decay timers ever changed?

I logged in to 480 hours this morning, so I’m assuming.

New player. What does this mean? Does it mean that bases decay after 480 hours? Is this permanent or temporary? If it’s temporary, what does it change to and when?

Currently it’s set to 480 hours, but soon it’ll get changed to 240 hours.

Once every 20 or10 days you have to physically visit each of your bases and use a repair hammer to see the timer.

Best to put the cursor on a foundation and it will tell you the current decay time.

It may take 1 minute to update the timer or it could take 4 minutes. Typically depends on server load.

If you don’t do this, then your ibase reaches a decay state and any player can take your items and destroy your base.

What Voc said. If you’re able to log in once a week your base should be fine. After the 15th I imagine it’ll drop back down to regular times.
