- Stop Updating the Game Altogether
- Keep Producing Updates

Stop doing the Ages introducing fluff and new systems for a time.
Focus on general bugfixing for at least a chapter.
Start listening to the players on testlive.
That what @Kikigirl said is what i would prefer too.
And i think most players of the community would prefer that.
Why isnât that something we can vote for?
Why just continue or end it?
âOnly a Sith deals in absolutesâ
Itâs just a hypothetical either or scenario. As much as I like the idea of âAge of Bug Fixesâ I lack confidence.
I voted yes. But Iâm displeased with many of the âupdateâ choices Funcom has made. I want the bugs fixed. I want the promised features that have been left incomplete. But I want the game to be good.
If âupdateâ means âchange for no good reasonâ then Iâd say âno.â But if âupdateâ means âimproved based on the feedback from the people who actually play the gameâ then Iâd say âyes.â
Worry not fellow exile i got ya. Was just kidding.
This update was even more frustrating than the previous one, and i thought it couldnât get worseâŠ
What a sweet summer child i was.
Same
While I too lack any confidence in Funcomâs ability to update without making the game worse, the problem with the âtwo optionsâ is that anyone voting for no further updates is effectively telling Funcom they want the game to stay in itâs current sh**ty state and never have anything fixed or finished. Meanwhile, a vote for continued updates tells Funcom âgreat job, keep it upâ even if the intention is that they only want fixes.
I canât vote for either - because I want Funcom to stop f**king things up and start actually fixing or finishing the things theyâve already introduced. Iâd be happy with âNothing new, only fixesâ, but I certainly donât want them to leave the game in the state they have currently reduced it to.
This is the way
Yes please
I would like to see an update that focuses more on addressing the issues they keep messing up rather than adding pretty things and breaking what is not broken.
I didnât vote because neither option is good.
If they stop updating, we are stuck with this crap.
If the continue update, they will continue to push out more unwanted crap without fixing the current crap.
This one would prefer a roll back to before the Age of War before ending further development.
As is, this one is giving it a week to see if it becomes tolerable, and then this game is no longer this oneâs problem.
This is my current stance too.
I have a lot of love for the game and about 6k hours dumped in but this one might be it.
The game desperately needs a new map with new storyline/concepts.
Not in the way ARK has new maps where itâs really just âsame but differentâ, or how the current nerfed Siptah is.
More along the lines of original Siptah, where there were random chaos storms were the only way to get Thralls. Not saying Siptah was great, but the way to play it was interesting before it just became a glorified PVP arena with tacked-on islands.
Example:
*An island map, mostly tropical with ruins. (Think Pool of the Black One)
*NO thrall taking at all, but rather rescuing captives or hiring NPCs. (thralls now would be less expendable)
*Initial start area is a sort of town like Sepermaru or the shipwreck area in Siptah and thatâs the only place human NPCs exist.
*Outside of âtownâ is a dangerous island filled with monsters and monstrous humanoid encampments. Think Kong Island. Dinosaurs!
*Dungeons based on novels like Pool of the Black One, Red Nails.
*Widescale -randomish- dangers (Think Typhoons, or huge wandering TRex, Old-school Purge style raids from humanoids)
*Some generic goal, like gather the 8 widgets in the dungeons to unlock the final dungeon/boss/big treasure.
*if PVP is needed, make âgrandâ treasures that show up on the map so everyone knows who has them and where they are at all times. Something corresponding to the 8 widgets probably.
âŠjust ideas!
The Exiles lands, should be rolled back to pre Age of War and locked in there. New concepts (Siege enemy base, etc) should be on new maps.
This is the boat I am in as well.
Sadly, these ideas (and many, many more like them) have been offered over the past several years. Funcom claims to read them. Funcom claims to take note of them. And yet, thatâs all. No action because they have âotherâ ideas in mind that donât involve what the players have asked for.
Take the Isle of Siptah for example. After years of begging of a new map, they finally gave one. But it was empty. And that made it boring. The âwildâ surges were an interesting idea and finding the location of a âwildâ surge was a bit of a treasure hunt. And the thralls that dropped from the sky⊠well, they just stand there doing nothing. And thatâs if you could find them. One of the biggest problems was the new âvolumetric lightingâ on Siptah. And on rare occasions, it looked pretty good. But most of the time, Siptah was shrouded in darkness. It was so bad, you needed a torch in broad daylight to see your way through the shadowy forests (especially around the Redwoods). I donât fault them for trying new things, but it was clear that âtestingâ did not amount to anything long-term (like creating a character and leveling up and doing all the vaults and giving it the full experience). Their testing amounted to only seeing if a feature worked and then shutting down the game to go back to working on the next code item. It was great for PvP because players would fill the world with bases to raid and resources to fight over. But from a PvE perspective⊠it was way too empty and devoid of content.
But rather than learn from the issues of Siptah, I fear Funcom has just given up on the whole ânewâ map idea and have convinced themselves to just âfixingâ the Exiled Lands (and carrying their changes over to Siptah to avoid being accused of abandoning their DLC). Like a cat that sits on a hot stove - the cat learns not to sit on a hot stove, but it wonât sit on a cold stove either.
I voted yes so they could do an update to put things back to the way they wereâŠ
One can dream. But itâs easier to make money by making new content people can instantly buy. And sadly they do buy it, encouraging Funcom to continue as they are.
Donât know if you played their other games, but it was/is the same.
Heck, Age of Conan is even selling lootboxes in the shop that are illegal in many countries (including China though the game isnât sold and played there) and people still buy them in 2024.
Iâm not sure why anyone would want them to stop the updates. The end of updates would be the end of this game. Thereâs already a very good chance thatâs going to happen once the Dune MMO is released so for a lot of you, your wish will be granted.
Itâs a shame, really. I canât even play the game now if I wanted toâŠ
Fatal errors on startup.
