PS4Pro optimizations is the most likely to be included in the patch, while we’re currently waiting if the crash fixes can make it into the new build of the game as well without further delaying the process. If so, they will be included with the patch after this one.
Ok, if you can already tell us about this patch, then you know when it’s coming, right?
Patience lol
Im a PS4 regular user. I would like to see the crashing stop. I also feel for the PS4 Pro people as they are way more out of whack. Get them fixed first then get these blue screens fixed before I die from “console crash” running into everything that kills. (water, spikes, mobs, lava, the list keeps growing).
Alright so here is the video. It’s super long because I didn’t want to cut anything out. There is no editing done to the video whatsoever. The video goes from initial load screen into my base at separmaru. I fast travel to the bridge if the Betrayer and through NA. I leave there through the pocket and into BG. I know you asked me to walk but I ran and I think I killed enough NPC’s. Hope this helps.
Yeah we have totally different experiences here. That looks smooth as butter. When I’m in Asgard or mounds of the dead, the lag is not just a bit of a stutter, it’s that bad that even my stamina does not replenish quite often. Lost count of the times I’ve died with an empty stamina bar trying to walk away from half a dozen or more invisible enemies. I have to stop every time I move to a deeper section of any of the cities , climb something and either sit still and wait or force things to render in by opening the menu and moving from map to clan page a few times which always causes a good 5-6 seconds pause during which the game keeps going, just I’ve stopped lol. I don’t even go to Asgard anymore. It’s nearly impossible to get in do anything useful and get out again in one piece. Nothing like the video you posted. That looks like Conan from 8-9 months ago when it still ran sweet.
@Wak4863
Thanks for the upload and your time!
While watching the video I could notice some frame drops in New Asagarth (which is fine and I guess this can be improved via patch) but bascialy no “sound desync at all” or “freezing” at all.
At the Black Galleon I’ve noticed a little bit of “sound desync” but it seems that the fps weren’t as bad as for me at this place.
Anyway your gameplay experience seems to be way better than mine!
My setup is: PS4 Pro with 500gb Internal Samsung 850 evo SSD, digital EU version of the game, stable 100/35Mbps fiber connection.
It makes me think that I could have a problem on my end. Maybe the routing to the server is screwed or my internal SSD isn’t performing well anymore.
What I’m going to do now is to setup smokeping (directly in my OpenWRT router) and monitor the RTT + packetloss to the offiicial pvp server that i’m currently playing on.
I’m also going to re download the game when the next patch is out because I could also imaging that there could be something wrong with the game files on my end.
Lol it’s not ideal
@Darkzombie
I do experience the same problems here, also at the mounds of the dead.
Does boost mode on the Pro actually make any difference to you guys? i turned it on now and have the impression of a noticably smoother framerate. I might be wrong as performance changes here an there. I did test this in the past but couldn’t tell it clearly mostly due to the inconsistency of the performance issues.
If it does make a difference this is actually bad news. Because that would mean that conan is not using the Pros full potential. On Pro enhanced games the Boost mode does exactly nothing because the console allready runs at the higher clockspeed bocause that is what the boost mode only does. The Pro than runs like an higher clocked ps4 without the additional shaders of the Pros GPU
I also play on a 500 Gb Samsung 850 Evo SSD.
I can play conan with the exception of New Asagarth, Mount of Dead and after the last patch Sepermeru too.
Another big problem is my base where i often get like 5 fps.
When I activate the boost mode, I only get a louder fan in my base! Absolutely no performance improvement!
When my team mates activate it (Pro without SSD), then they feel a bit better performance, but a constantly louder fan.
Their fan is getting so laut, that they turn it off again.
This i find very concerning. Louder fan means more heat production. Probable cause: Boost mode increases clockspeed. That would explain alot of the performance issues.
It does not necessarily have to be due to overheating. Boost mode gives you more CPU power and maybe the fan control automatically thinks that it has to push the fan too. It doesn’t matter if the current temperature is quite ok.
So, maybe it is not an overheating problem, but rather a communication problem.
If it were really a problem of overheating, our consoles should be much louder in the summer.
That definitely does not apply to mine.
I don’t say overheating, just more heat. I am also pretty certain the fan is temperature controlled like it should. Higher Clockspeed produces more heat. Otherwise a variable fan speed dosn’t have much use.
But i think you don’t understand what i am getting at. You say that team mates experience a better performance with boost mode enabled. Its true that CPU and GPU power will be increased with boost mode enabled. But only if the Console not allready runs at the higher clockspeed wich it should if the game is Pro enhanced. Pro enhanced games like spiderman, HZD ect don’t benefit from boost mode. In fact it has no effect since the console runs at its max speed.
I was running through NA right now with boost mode enabled. The stutter, audio desync ect was significantly less then without boost mode.
This leads me to the conclusion that the game might not be pro enhanced but features better visuals then the standard ps4. Without the full power of the Pro the game might suffer in performance because of it. That would explain it to me.
Boost Mode on Pro enhanced games should change nothing. Maybe its a bug that not all people experience where the console doesnt run enhanced while for others it does. i don’t know
I’m on PS4 Pro, gportal server with 3 friends, and I’ve been experiencing a number of issues since I started playing back in March. The most noticeable issue is lag during combat and this comes in different forms. The main one is that everyone on my screen freezes in place and I can still move. I deal no damage to anything, can’t gather anything, or use anything, and on my friends end I can hear the battle is still going. I can be attacked during this time but I can’t see what’s happening. Eventually everything works again, sometimes the battle is over sometime it isn’t. Other times I can see floating names but nothing is rendering. Not people, buildings, or resources. I once got killed for wandering into a base full of enemies and I never saw it coming.
A new issue that I’ve encountered since this most recent update is that I’ll log in and try to gather a resource such as stone and my pickaxe hits the ground. I can walk into the stone about halfway before my position is reset back outside of the stone. Logging off and back on usually fixes this issue.
Another issue I’ve experienced since the beginning is things not loading in properly. I could see everything inside of my house from the outside but no roof, walls, or stairs. For 2 minutes I had to stand there waiting for the rest of the house to render in just so I could find the door.
A rather annoying issue I experience on the daily is looking at containers that have items in them. I get to enjoy a lag spike that is followed by me being placed on the other side of the room just because I looked at a random box in my house. This issue is amplified when I run into a lot of boxes which is the case outside of the house.
A slightly less annoying issue but one that is nonetheless present is trying to use a bow… It doesn’t always work. Many times I’ll launch an arrow only for nothing to actually fire from the bow. This usually happens 3-5 times before it starts to work and even then the arrow doesn’t always register that it hit the target. I’ve seen my arrows bounce off of enemies consistently and they don’t aggro either. I shoot, arrow bounces off of them, and they continue with their day.
Audio issues have only gotten worse since March. I frequently find myself gathering a resource and with each hit of my axe… Nothing! I gather the resource but no sound. I can usually gather from 4-6 rocks before all of the sounds load in at once which usually is quite loud.
Speaking of mining a frequent issue is trying to gather a resource and then it disappears. After about 30 seconds to 2 minutes the resource appears and I can finish gathering it.
Thralls and pets are awkward when they attack intruders. When a random NPC walks into our camp the thralls and pets go after them. We can watch the fight for several minutes with the opposing NPC not fighting back and when we engage we notice that the enemy NPC hasn’t event taken any damage. Sometimes they do take damage though… It doesn’t make any sense!
Another issue is accessing my inventory. I’m level 54 and just trying to access my inventory can take a considerable amount of time sometimes. It has improved with the patches but sometimes that issue comes up.
Im on ps4 slim and im facing all the issues you having too other than the lag which is 10x times worse, sometimes game feezes up for more than 5 mins.
thank you for writing all of these i was lazy to write them all of this i hope they do something about it
How do Isend evidence of crafting bug/issue? According to this link I got from a member on this community (https://conanexiles.gamepedia.com/Stone_Pick#Source) it really looks like there is a major bug/issue towards crafting cost. the link says it cost 5 stones and 5 branches for a stonepick, but when I try crafting it tells me it costs 50 stones and 50 branches for a stonepick the same goes for stonehatchet.
Are you on a private server or official?
I play only co-op and offline. so for me it’s private.
