I recently returned to the game but to my dismay i found that it it near unplayable now on ps4 due to the extreme framerate loss.
Does this issue exist on ps5 as well and what are any other problems that exist on ps5 regarding the game (for both maps)?
i’m contemplating a hardware upgrade if it performs significantly better on ps5 than on ps4.

While logged in: tick and untick Settings->Gameplay->Show journey steps
For some, that is enough to fix the problem except the need to reset the tick.
Again, it’s a bug. I would buy the ps5 for an upgrade to the experience overall. I would get the DE version.
You can enjoy the game on ps5 if you have high tolerance to rendering issues and bugs.
If you think about upgrading because of this game, go for a good gaming pc.
The ps5 is much better than the ps4, but still incapable of running this game as it should.
A good rig fares pretty well, I’ve heard. I’m not sure the game runs perfectly on any platform, but you won’t encounter many of the problems that plague PlayStation. And you’ll have mods. 
Bullshit, PS5 is able to run games much better and taxing than this…
Even xbox series s runs this at 60fps… why would Funcom not develop a PS5 version?
The only Conan Exiles available on PSN Store is the PS4 version, the PS5 is just running the PS4 conan because Funcom just won’t develop a PS5 optimized version.
PS5 has 2070ti and a 16GB RAM, a shittier PC w/ those specs could run Conan well, so PS5 specs is no excuse.
Check the Conan game out on PSN…
It’s just a PS4 version, Funcom never bothered to dev a PS5 version it seems, even though they have such a larger playerbase in Playstation than in Xbox

Usually people say that being able to build everywhere is the reason, but just look at Fortnite. My kid plays that, builds like crazy when fighting and you rarely see a blip of trouble.
I don’t know why Conan runs so poorly, but pethaps it shouldn’t. What bothers me the most are the fps drops and the delay in texture rendering. It drives me insane.
