Bug Description:
I’ve purchased and completed battle pass and items from battle pass will not be available to me to use as well as items from the Bazzar. Some days I get to use them and other days I don’t.
Bug Reproduction:
1.Gave Funcom my money. 2. I purchased battle pass and items from Bazaar. 3. Completed challenges in battle pass. 4. I don’t get to use the items I paid for and then had to work for in your game.
this issue also happens to me on PS5 Official server, the items I’ve purchased are essentially greyed out; if I log out and close down Conan and log back in, it works again. This is on PS5 though, so I’m not sure if it’s the same issue
I put a ticket in about a week ago for an issue where I’m not able to spawn in items from the past BP. I paid for it and also claimed the rewards… I should have everything unlocked but it keeps telling me in the admin panel, failed to spawn item… I also did chapter 2 and have it fully completed and all of those items seem to spawn fine. I’m not sure what’s wrong. I play on a modded private server but I also tried spawning the same items in on single player with no mods and it still wasn’t working. I haven’t had any lags/fps drops and am wired in.
Factor into all this that Funcom staff were on annual vacation in December and will be playing catchup right now (a guess).
As the new BattlePass and Bazaar stuff rely on periodic security validations and therefore secure connectivity, all you would need is an intermittent link to the Funcom platform running that check and your game would likely get ‘confused’ as to whether you have rights to said item(s);
Or you just qualified for said item(s) and your game has not polled;
Or there’s undue traffic due to hack-attacks, general server play, alien attacks, hack attacks, sunspots, dog p-ing on the network routers, exploits, etc.
One of the biggest issues with trying to monetise games in a way that is not utterly insulting and exploitative is to maintain that international connection for repeated security checks and verification. It’s a biggie, and one that many companies don’t solve satisfactorily.
Personally, I suspect it’s not really a solveable issue and people will just vote with their feet and not pay attention to the Bazaar - and BattlePass stuff outside of the ‘freebies’ via challenge completion.
