Well bow should be treated as weapon can be solo played yes like other weapons.

The problem what people have is they feel bow shouldn’t be solo weapon but is fine that every melee weapon should be. Which is wrong, every weapon should have nitch and certain builds should help out those certain weapons.

So solo play should be treated as counter play certain weapons should counter others and vice vercer. But should not be viewed as ranged should be counted melee. So anyone brings one weapon to the fight is gimping them selves and runs risk of being countered.

That being said bow and accuracy build is in bad shape. Bow should tighten scroll speed on heavy shot so aiming be little bit easier. Should bring back hold if they can. Remove the 3rd attack from light and keep it at two. Maybe put with the heavy and give sunder.

The perk system need remove trick shot and headshot because it should be given as bonuse to range weapons . 3rd perk drop to second and 3rd perk tie orbs to accuracy witch increase duration and damage. Last perk removes accuracy penalty on moving and flight speed increase by 10%

Hi everyone, thank you for your all comments and input, the insight is tremendous for me as I do enjoy playing an archer build in any game.

This is my two cents worth.

if the idea so to compare a 1 v 1 pvp build, archer builds is not viable at the moment simply because the mechanics are just not designed to allow it to happen. Many twerks need to be made to make it even close to considerable. There is a good reason why archers are non existent in a gladiator arena.

Even if it cannot be used 1 v 1, the mechanics needs to allow it to function effectively as a support.

If we look at it from an immersion / game play stand point, the whole attributes and perks are close to border of senseless.

  1. Carry a Two handed Hammer, Two Handed Sword, a Javelin, Axe etc… you can kick, a bow, you cannot!? huh? Shouldn’t there be a kick available for the already nerfed archer?

  2. Accuracy does not improve accuracy… shouldn’t the shot spread reduce as “accuracy” improves?

  3. Arrow speed in the game is probably 30% slower than in real life. Perhaps a perk like trick shot should be replaced with faster arrow speed? Cross bow speeds were real, and makes sense.

  4. Shots to the legs cripple, fair enough. For a player to have such “accuracy”, they should probably get rewarded for that skill, longer cripple? Slow down even more? enough for an archer to create distance.

  5. Headshot a deer, and kill it instantly, rewarding accuracy. Head shot a human,and… wait he is still walking with 3 arrows in the head, what blasphemy is this.

  6. As already mentioned, an archer should be in a fortified position, and with access to arrows, can keep firing volleys of shots. Unless in the form of silent assassination, more wars will not have only one archer, there will be a squad at least.

  7. Perhaps the Melee Builds are OP in the first place. ratio of stamina lost for a tank build is puzzling. A tank going at the speed of a Sedan is really OP even in realistic sense. Wearing a Silent legion Armor should be impending movement in many ways, such as slower attack speeds, or slower run speeds.

  8. Realistically, you could slow jog foward and still shoot arrows, it will probably not go where you want, nor will it have power to penetrate armor, but a arrow to the head, (like the eye) should still be allowed to let luck do some work for hardworking archers.

Hopefully when there are new arrow type released, it will make the “skilled” archer become a threat to all the meta builds.

The bows uses in this game is still plenty, although it is not the type of use people expect it to do.
If youre looking for damage and wins in 1v1 PVP with the bow, you’re going to have a bad time.

The bows uses are different niche roles. I’ve killed enemy raiders who place their explosive jars, Ive detonated them from afar with my bow, ending up with their bits and pieces across the map. I’ve stopped runners away with poison arrow + cripple to prevent them from healing and running away, while my mate finished the enemy off. I’ve gained easy kills by shooting poisoned arrows on climbers far up who fell down to their demise too.

Spaming L and shooting a target also takes his attention away from doing something, lets say a bomber is trying to place bombs or orb, if you keep shooting the guy he will get stressed out and back off or send his PvP build goons on you.

And so on. So bows right now arent entirely useless imo but when it comes to damage purposes, yes, it is bad. The entire accuracy perk tree is a joke. having 10 accuracy for the cripple bonus makes the cripple last like 1 second longer lol

While yes there are anecdotal instances where the bow is useful, to do so you’re very purposefully gimping yourself. We’re not asking for increased damage so much as proper aiming mechanics and something like kick with the block button. That said though, the bow should be viable. Sure, it shouldn’t be the best weapon in the game, but you can’t even hunt basic animals with a bow currently, which is asinine. We understand we shouldn’t be one-shotting people in pvp with a bow and literally no one is asking for that, but right now archery is hot garbage.

Things like Accuracy tightening arrow spread, proper aiming mechanics to take advantage of the headshot perk, and an arrow type like bodkin arrows to take advantage of the armor pen perk would do much to actually make accuracy builds viable. They aren’t viable currently.

We need simple fix. Keep the dmg as it is, but remove light combo and heavy attack and replace it with following:

light attack: 1 shot - nothing else
heavy attack: on demand released shot with increased damage and zoom in

ALSO, increase attack speed of the bows by, lets say, 50% - and make it like this:
4. accuracy perk: head shot dmg and armor pene +50%
or
5. accuracy perk: head shot dmg 50% + attack speed 50%
or
replace any of this perks by +50% attack speed

making bows attack faster just by default would benefit everyone, and that would not be fair for Archery Lovers
