Purge free outposts

As far as I know, Single-Player has a different logic concerning Purge targeting than multiplayer servers. Also, on Single-Player where I had multiple massive bases, the Purge decided to target this:

Yes, what you see in that picture is everything I had built within several map squares. A single triangle foundation with a few ceiling pieces attached to it, so as to let me reach a lorestone. And no, it wasn’t the base closest to me when the Purge triggered, either.

I’ve had a similar experience actually! That’s part of the reason I started the thread. I had only one base overlooking the shaleback king’s island behind Sep City and the purge targeted a couple of foundations and a staircase that I had used to reach a meteorite up in the snow north of the mounds.

So if you have multiple already established large bases, basically it’s just a game of luck as to which will be targeted? Obviously the largest I guess has the highest probability, but it sounds like any base can be targeted?

This actually helps with a question I asked a few months back that no one was able to help with.

I have a large original base, but tried building a second large base in an area with only human purges. No matter what I did, the purge just wouldn’t happen there. Eventually I did have around 5 or 6 purges at that location, but at least 15-20 in the original spot during the same time period. Wish there was some way to make it come at that second spot more often!

Thanks for the interesting info!

Well you’re well wishes didn’t go unheard! I finally got the time to get that purge metre all the way up (constant battle when time is short and it drains daily) and defeated my first high level purge. I’ve had plenty of low level ones in the desert around black hand ship and sep city and I’ve had a couple of purges in the snow but got wiped lol. I’m built right outside New Asgarth and was thinking I would get a nordheimer purge but got sent a cimmerian purge instead which was interesting lol. I lost a couple of beserker’s that thought it was a good idea to attack an undead dragon with steel truncheons :joy: and I managed to knock a T4 cook into my palisades which didn’t end well but got my hands on a bunch of T4’s.

So I’m extremely happy with the results. Thanks everyone for your tips to get the purge where I wanted it. And thanks for the good luck @stelagel

After about 3 years of gaming and more than 50 northern purges I got only 3 armorers and 2 of them in a shame purge , it is so difficult to have Armorer spawn in a purge , so difficult . The purge blacksmith is your great reward from this purge , no more unnamed city farming legendary weapon repairs . About the cook , you will be disappointed , the lone fisherman cooks more recipes than him , still it is a named cook  . The fighters will gain really good amount of hp , maybe better than Teimos , maybe . I am really happy for you mate , really happy :+1:

I thought in single player the purge attacked the base (eligible for the purge to attack) closest to you. I mean I only had this kind of encounters.

This is because you have there a sample of bridge . I remember when I fixed one too on the North all my purges were hitting on it . Still if you don’t like to build bridges ,or samples of it :rofl::rofl: , the wheel of pain is the next target  .

Yeah, that’s how it should work. In my Single-player, it was borked.
