If your referring to the latest small dl for conan it is the launcher, all of these small updates are to do with the launcher.
If that was happening for me and kept failing I would probably delete the launcher folder and let steam reacquire these files, it can be found at Steam\steamapps\common\Conan Exiles\Launcher.
Then validate the files, I have just deleted mine , validated the files just to make sure it reacquires them, and it does, it is a 97.3 MB dl as of 20.05 gmt

Wouldn’t have thought about this, because I workaround this stupid and senseless funcom launcher for a long time.
I just start conan by joining my server through the steam server list - fortunately this method skips this launcher most people don’t even need.
However…
I’ll try out this suggestion somewhen later/tomorrow after I got some sleep and will keep you informed after that.

Unfortunately this made no change.
Nor did deleting the steam download cache.
I’ll just reinstall the game files which will hopefully solve this update issue.

Unfortunately there seems to be no solution.
I already did all primary solutions recommended in your provided link except reinstalling steam.
Therefor I don’t see any reason because other games such as Ark update well.
Conan update still gets stuck by filling up the launcher folder - even after game reinstallation.
Probably funcom implemented tasks in the launcher update that conflicts with my obsolete win7 system.
Well - seems like I won’t play Conan anymore, 'cause I don’t see any reason to switch to another OS just because of this launcher I don’t even use and worked around the last months anyway.
