There are plenty of things not working currently. Bees are not at the top of the list.
I recently stocked up on aloe to the tune of 9000 units and got 16 queens. Used eldarium sickle.
Interesting! Eldarium… did you do this on Siptah? I wonder if it is working there and not on EL?
Yep on Siptah I’m on an exiled lands server as well but I’m not at home else I’d jump on and test there as well.
Confirmed: Just got queen bees of Crimson Lotus at mounds - so likely farming the rare lotus plants right now might be the key. Thanks for the help yall!!
Tonight I made a new character on an official (pve) server. Was picking aloe and fiber by hand and got 3 queens. Earlier in the day I went out farming with an older, more well equipped character and got zero queens from anything, despite using black blood sickle with upgrades.
Conclusion: It’s. Rare. And. Random.
My golem collected fibre and 16 queen bees with the scythe arm, maybe this is what is going to be the future of rare resources.
That’s cool! I’m going to have to try that as well.
The main reason I even went hunting down this rabbit hole is because the Master Brewer journey step requires a queen bee, and I didn’t have one in my storage.
I have yet to pick up any new ones.
Interesting, i may have to try that
I figured this was probably the case. Yeah… I was fortunate since I like to keep a small crate next to my beehive where I put all the bees I collect. Been doing that since the server mergers last year so I got a few.
I found a few worker bees harvesting crimson lotus yesterday at the wolf dungeon on Siptah last night no queen’s.
My wife went into her Exiles server this morning I see she had 7 Queen bees from harvesting fiber
Newbie river iron sickle
so i’m new to the game but i was wondering why they dont make the queen be live in the hive and attract more bees to the hive and stuff also i think its aloe plants i found a few last few days and had to do it for the one journey
that’s a great question… no idea. there’s quite a few things that funcom has designed that gives us all pause, lol.
lol i know but i just thought that was what the queen would do when i put it in and then it was made into honey… i was like they shoulda had her attract more workers. they could make her harder to find so it would make it worth while to do then.
It kinda already does You put a queen and a worker into the hive, they are consumed and then honey keeps spawning regardless whether you have put additional bees or not - so it kinda “attracts new bees” (and they make a new batches of honey)
oh i never noticed it was respawning because i put a ton of bees in at a time lol
