Hey Funcom ![]()
I know it has already been 100% verified that some armors in Conan Exiles are directly taken from Age of Conan, and you’ve even shared examples of this yourselves.
What I’m curious about goes a bit deeper than that.
Were there armors that we now see in Conan Exiles that were originally created for Age of Conan, possibly even close to being finished, but never made it into the game because focus shifted to Conan Exiles during development?
I’m not referring to the already well-documented examples shown in previous videos or posts, but also to other early or base-game armors in Conan Exiles.
For example:
-
Zamorian Thief armor
-
Zingarian Freebooter
-
Zamorian Dancer armor
-
Early-game starter armors, light, medium, and heavy
-
Aquilonian armor, pre-DLC
-
Reptilian Armor
Some of these sets have a very strong Age of Conan visual language, and in some cases even show differences in texture resolution when dyed, which makes them feel like assets that may have gone through different production phases.
So the core question is:
Were any of these early Conan Exiles armors originally designed for Age of Conan, but repurposed or finalized later for Conan Exiles instead?
And as a purely nostalgic thought, if that’s the case, would there ever be a possibility of seeing some of these armors return to Age of Conan, even if only as cosmetic items?
Just a question driven by passion for both games, and a lot of Conan-era nostalgia ![]()
Would love to hear any insight you’re able to share.
I’ll post some images of the many armors that I mention:
