Atmosphere.
Give us a couple of place-able “sound” items.
Allow us to toggle through a set of “noises” that will play in a loop when players are near.
Perhaps allow us to set a “value”, such as intensity, range, volume.
Examples…
Tavern Mug - Plays audible laughter, jibber jabber, drunken shenanigans. Suits a pub/kitchen/eatery.
Saddle - Plays horse related sounds, neighing, braying, trotting, snorts. Suits a stable.
Torture Tools - Plays sounds of suffering, weariness, broken spirited moans, metal clangs and shackles. Compliments the wheel of pain. (Or gives similar sound effect without the Wheel of Pain.)
Musical Notes - Plays songs from various instruments, or a combination of them. Suitable for taverns, or a lounge of sorts.
Stone/Branch/Water Bowl - Ambiance. Plays selected natural ambiance. Howling Wind, Flowing Water, Thunder Storms, Creaking Forests.
Witches Spice Rack - Plays the sounds of a bubbling cauldron (much like a fire-bowl cauldron) but can be placed in more restricted areas, on walls, or on a stove.
Bait Post - A post to hang a small basket of fishing bait on. Provides flopping fish sounds, a splish, a splash.
Dancer’s Rug - (Female-Male version) Provides playful taunts, manly grunts, inviting giggles.
Scarf ‘n’ Barf Bowl - Bowl for the hogs of the house. Where men eat, belch then gasp for air just to do it again and again.
Bugs - Bugs!
Birds - Birds!
You get the idea, the concept is pretty wide ranging, and could re-use a lot of existing sound effects in new objects to create immersive (player created) environments.
This could be a single item, with access to a multitude of skins (and sound effects). Or it could be multiple items, with individual skins and specific sound effects.
Additionally, a few customization options after placing it could really make these compliment a base nicely.
Creativity is king!
