Well thankyou for thinking of us CodeMage. I should state for the record here that it is not dreadful by any means, it just has some quirks which are unique to it. Here a a few examples for the benefit of those who do not know of these. Console phenomena:
-each time console players open the radial wheel, all character movement grinds to a halt. Furthermore, when we use any one item on it, the wheel closes automatically and we must then repeat the process. Thus healing on the fly is much more challenging on consoles. There is no ability to auto-consume 3 healing items on consoles.
-the players Handcrafting menu (in with the players inventory) has no search bar. Therefore it becomes very cluttered and time consuming searching for specific crafting tiles. This is doubly true if we have been using Tablets of Knowledge to unlock all Feats.
-we also do not have mod support.
Then in addition to this, there are also so quirks unique to Singleplayer mode too. Singleplayer phenomena:
-Star Metal meteors. The timer to trigger them does not count when we are logged out of the server or outside of the Frozen North. To make these even spawn we need to travel to the Frozen North, then literally just loiter around the one area for approximately 1.5 hrs; and that is every time we turn the game on.
-Breaking & Crafting. Thralls do not continue to break upon logging off the server, and crafted items (eg-Roasted Haunch or Leather) do not continue crafting after logging off the server. All progression pauses until we log back in.
-when we die in a dungeon it is not uncommon for a Boss to be back to full health by the time we run back there.
*if we couple this with the fact that we are a one man workforce: we have to do ALL of the harvesting, the fighting, the building, the capturing by ourselves. So progress comes much more slowly. For example, it took me around 6 months to build my 2 storey black ice manor.
I know there were a few others too, and if I think of them I will update this post.
For the record: I am NOT saying all of this to complain. If these things bothered me that much I would quit playing the game shortly after I brought it; at launch on ps4. But rather, simply to educate other members on the forum, because I have found a lot of other people do not know of these quirks when told of them.
I’ll even expand on this since I’m unable to go to Disneyland like friggin planned this week.
What I’d like to see are more cosmetic placeables with empty “thrall” spots. The could even alter existing stuff like stools and campfires to add additional thrall spots. When a “decorative” thrall is placed onto this spot, it places a ZERO AI actor there that plays a generic animation localized to whatever that decoration dictated (drinking, sitting, eating, staring into the abyss, etc.)
And what I’d like to see is a use given to cages: Whenever a captured person is placed in a cage, regardless of the type (fighter, crafter, etc), it will convert them to a decorative thrall, for use with said concept described above.
ALSO, I cannot stress this enough: Please give us a “wardrobe” that allows us to customize the clothing of non-combat thralls. I don’t care if the clothing is “consumed” when we use it to change their appearance, but this would go a long way to help liven up the place. And of course, said wardrobe should have a “remove clothing” option, because reasons.
I would Deff make ai COMPLETELY aggressive towards ANYTHING that is not family (clan). Cmon dude or dudette your really going to wait till I’m beaten bloody to start attacking?! You’re just gonna let randoms stroll on by our territory? No no no we mustn’t allow this diss obedience from these thralls.
A feature that I’d like to see would be some sort of command system. Sort of like in Skyrim where you press a button to order your follower to go to a location or attack an enemy that you have your curser on. This would be great for getting your thralls to initiate combat with an enemy and grab agro without you having to attack them first.
Also making it to where thralls can gain experience even when not following you. You could even make it to where they gain less experience when you don’t have them as an active follower.
I also know that having the ability to have a thrall and a mount follow at the same time is being added later but it would be pretty nice if the thrall could also ride a mount as well or even hop on our horse with us and ride along.
Hello, this is my first post on the forum. And sorry if my English is bad.
Often I see how players build in the world of building games that do not have any gameplay benefits, but work for the atmosphere of the game. Sometimes even whole villages. In which there are taverns, shops, put behind the shelves of merchants, behind the bar counters are bartenders. And it looks very cool.
Except that you cannot interact with these NPC.
But what if I could put items in my thrall’s inventory. And another player could take them by paying a coin. Well, that is, turn a thrall into a merchant.
Players will be able to exchange the necessary resources and, finally, the coins will cease to be so useless.
