Reconsider these changes:

As usual I’m talking mostly from the perspective of PvP. I like the new stamina system and I like the direction the game is going. But the state of current PvP meta is not healthy at all. With new upcoming changes about to make it even worse.

  1. Steel thewed. Don’t touch it, it’s good as it is. Ask yourself - who uses this perk? Meta builds (20 str 20 agi 20 vit)? No. This perk exists for corrupted builds. It helps to negate one of their crucial disadvantages - small hp pool. With maximum of only 300 hp and halved hp bonus from gear this perk acts as an essential part for anyone who wants to be even remotely competitive in PvP with a non-meta full corruption build.
And yet, even if you’ve ever attempted to play with such build, you’ll quickly find out that it’s STILL not enough to feel tanky. You still drop in four hits by a dagger spammer or spear poker.
The stamina change made corrupted builds more viable than they have ever been, but still not strong enough to become meta. This new change will deal a severe blow to corrupted builds’ survivability, making even weaker than it already is. Please reconsider and don’t touch this perk at all.
in fact, why not change the other final grit perk into something actually useful while we’re at it? That shield perk is useless. Nobody ever picks it over Steel thewed! Change it into passive 20% damage reduction on top of armor bonus or something like that. An alternative survival perk for deep grit build.

  2. Avatar change. Avatars were always a unique weapon in the arsenal of the best playstyle - solo terrorist. When nasty alphas forget their place and harrass the server with their numbers, it’s always exceptionally satisfying to summon a couple of gods on them and to cause immense damage in short time.
Now… 10 minutes is not a short time at all. It’s way too long. I mean i get it, being in a body of a god for whole 10 minutes sounds great on paper, but it also kind of kills the whole point - the speed of its damage.
Plus a large clan has more ways to counter the avatar. More people - more explosive arrows being fired, burning the timer down much faster. The new avatar change is a direct buff to large clans. The one thing you should avoid doing at all cost.

My solution:
Make it 10 minutes but change the way timer depletes. Let it go down slowly while you walk but let it take away huge chunks when you attack, with each such attack dealing as much damage as they do in the current version of the game. Take the best of both old and new version and combine them into one.
Naturally, the passive damage would have to be reduced by a lot so people wouldn’t just walk over bases instead of attacking.
This change would also add a lot of tactical depth to the summons. Now it will no longer be necessary to summon the avatar right next to the target, as it is essential to use every single second given to deal maximum damage. Now the avatar can be summoned from afar, make its way towards the target and still deal significant damage with several powerful attacks.

  1. Rolling thrust -this perk needs to go. It has no place in the game along side the new stamina system. It was strong before but now it just turns everything on its head. People combine it with bow or spear and just roll-hit-roll-hit-roll-hit/roll-shoot-roll-shoot-roll-shoot into infinity. With ZERO points in grit, I need to add. They can’t be caught. The fight turns into an unfunny circle show…
Please erase this perk and change it into something less toxic.

  2. Archery. Reverse the change - archery should be strong at high distance and weak at close range. Don’t be ridiculous

They don’t care what players say.
Even when majority asked not to do some changes,
They still made them.
Im not looking forward to any of these updates anymore.

What a nice explanation in live stream.
“We’re removing the god bubble. You’ll just have to be online to protect your base or risk losing it.”

It would not be a performance issue, because pve wouldn’t be using bubble.

Must be they want players to body vault and have 100 small bases across the map

Geez, these forums are toxic.

Not one to praise funcom for no good reason, but NPCs are no longer so oblivious. One of the most common gripes about chapter one was how oblivious most NPCs seemed to be. They awake now, and whiling to pursue.

:point_up_2:

Have to argue with you there, as arrows lose momentum they lose impact. I thought it ridicules I could one shot enemies at the bows max range.

i think we dont have the same definition of toxicity and all experienced player that play legit knows what will give this new change and who will have fun with it, and this is certainly not the normal player.

RUST with a Conan skin

sadly it’s exactly what will be resultt ,like with infinitie god that will run the map and wipe everthing, and we know where their user will live and how much fun they will have (not people that will have problem to not have a bubble), funcom you will have to come play on offcial server to build base to raid for the enjoyment of your special customer, because us we will give up for sure.

Funcom has made it pretty obvious since the haunch/herbal tea nerf and fence stacking change. They want combat to be quick and bases to be destroyed easily. Most large clans are on dead servers and the only real combat is server transfers.

I… don’t know about that. With Rolling thrust perk and new stamina system combat flows a lot faster but it lasts longer simply because it’s very hard to catch people. Previously the deciding factor would be to force the enemy to stam out - you could just combo them to death. Now it’s impossible. It’s all about poking and chasing/poking and dodging.
The 10 minutes timer for avatar also doesn’t support this theory. Comparing to one minute it’s insanely long time for the same result.

I believe that the 10 minute window is to give the chance to the offended to find and slay the offender. As long as you summon an avatar you are extremely vulnerable. 1 minute was not enough for someone to understand what’s going on, but 10 is more than enough. I don’t believe that if someone raid someone else online will make it more than five minutes.
The offended will find the summoner and kill him!
I remember playing on private pvp servers in the past, the admin was summoning a god and we had to find him and kill him. The only rule was not to open the map. Because if you open the map then you know exactly from where the summon started.
Look at the bright side now @Kilix. Before, with just one minute window you had to call the avatar close to the base you wanted to raid. Now you can take your distance and loose why not 2 minutes from the summoning, just to give your self a safe distance to make it difficult to the others to find you. If the players are good they will still find you, but you’ll enjoy it as well.
I believe that now avatars will totally take place in pvp severs.
Every pvp clan will have an eye in the map for tier 3 temples and avatars. I can see the fuss!
I have a strongly feeling it will work.

I dont think anyone will bother with avatar. 10x less damage. To much farming for that. Use bomb instead

Developer:

Removing bubble that was in game for years. Amazing maybe next you could remove conan out of game as well. Because that is not conan game anymore that I bought.
These updates are… I hate them…
Add content, if you want. But you dont do just that.
Changing game play with every update, taking content out of the game without good explanation.
Everytime you update game. We players lose something.

Yeah new stamina is the worst possible thing that ever happened in this game.
Its easier to kill a player who fight back then a naked dude who is rolling around.
Maybe its fine for pve and fighting npc and bosses
But in pvp is not good.

Just remove avatars completely out of the game.
You putting bombs for sell for 5 gold coins wonderful.

We’ll see . Let the update comes first.

No, just too much risk!! A smart pvp player will place the temple away from his main base and try to create the avatar close to the base he wants to hit.
There’s no too much farm in pvp my friend, just goals! Not to mention that tier 3 temples can be used as lure traps, or cunning like my friend @Barnes use to say. Allow me to see a potential here.
About the bubbles, i really don’t like this too . We agree!

You’ll have to to finish one of the journey steps.

A smart pvper will just abuse new purge for fast and easy raid supplies and then offline raid other players.
Gods take too much time for a little gain and maybe some players forgot or don’t know about it but avatars do have health (attached to the timer) that other players can deplete (if they’re online).
Too much time, too much effort, too much rng.

After seeing the new Purge revealed by other players, and having dorked around with it, there are significant limitations to triggering an actual effective Purge. One of these is terrain selection. Most good players build in locations where The Purge can’t properly encamp. Thus, good players will either need to change their strategy or create an obvious Purge Base. In my experience, Purge Bases are easy pickins and very very good places to truly annihilate the Alpha when their tassets are down.

There’s no need to create an actual base or anything even resembling one.
Just put down a coffer, fill it up with some gold to trigger lvl low lvl purge, kill dumb npcs, and enjoy your access to the merchant.
Any solo can do this and there’s a lot of flat terrain on the edges of the map or unpopular spots.
