The new Relic Hunter Pick from the battle pass is created from Hardened Steel, but unlike a normal hardened steel pick it cannot harvest star metal. The durability decreases as you hack away at it, but nothing is obtained.
Not sure if this was maybe intentional, as I guess the Relic Hunter Pick can be created as soon as you unlock it in the pass, rather than waiting to get access to the hardened steel tools.
