[Describe the bug here]
There are currently two endgame human NPC factions in the game:
Relic Hunters (Sepermeru)
Votaries of Skelos (Volcano)
Relic Hunters have Treasure Seekers (RHTS from now on) in the Unnamed City. It stands to reason that just as the Volcano is an endgame section of the game, so is the Unnamed City with all its bosses.
Now, the RHTS are convertible like regular fighters and archers. They used to have 6750 HP which seems fitting, since there are a ton of them out there and they have 100% spawnrates. They are also pretty tough to fight relatively speaking. Their accompanying minibosses have around 1k HP and they had 750 HP up until the patch.
Votaries have many named fighters and archers which spawn quite often, but the volcano is a dangerous area and not easy to get out of without a map room. Unlike UC which can be accessed without more than moderate risk right at the start. They still don’t spawn 100% tho. Their T4s, just as Sepermeru T4s, have 825 HP. They used to have 7425 HP as Thralls, but this was before Erii, Kisthis, Tma and Hosth were added.
Since the last big update (1.40 I believe) both these values shifted. RHTS suddenly have 7425 HP, and they always took as long as named thralls anyway. They now have 825 HP like regular T4. I just wanna add here for my later points that Relic Hunters and Votaries MIRROR each other in terms of Rank HP. Rank 1 is always 3000 for both, Rank 2 is always 4500 and Rank 3 is always 5250. Rank for (Captains and Daicas for instance) used to be 7425 for both.
Votaries suddenly have 6750 HP? This doesn’t seem right for rare spawns of a faction that fights in one of the most dangerous, late-game access areas of the map - you need epic exceptional or flawless armor in there, maybe a heat shield and maybe even constant drinking/ice just to avoid extreme heat/heatstroke.
This is not balanced in regards to RHTS at all which have multiple spawns, multiple camps and 100% spawnrate each. Not farming them seems to be inefficient. Why would you risk going into the Volcano for weaker thralls, right? Even farming the new Bandit Leaders seems like a bad idea now, because they don’t have a 100% spawnrate, they use light attacks a lot unlike the Captains (previous Sepermeru T4 Fighter) and they can potentially lead to you having to fight a large section of Sepermeru, which is much more risk than the odd skeleton in UC after fighting off 4 enemies in the RHTS camps.
This all combined leads me to believe that there is some kind of mix-up that led to the RHTS gaining HP and strength unintentionally, inadvertendly nerfing the Volcano named fighters/archers/entertainers in the process. There is just no proper risk/reward balance going on, but since these areas have been changed simultaneously, one could be led to believe it is a bug.
I agree seems off even with all the focus on the separmaru and unnamed city areas I don’t feel that the hit points are balanced to the areas. I would also add that the spawn rate for named fighters and archers is way to high in the volcano. I ran past 8 of the new named archers and fighters the other day in the volcano. I don’t knock them out anymore they are too easy to obtain.
I do think the Volcano T4s should be equal to the Relic Hunters in strength. It’s still a higher level zone than the UC (in my opinion), or on par maybe. And yeah I’m all for having more options on where to get thralls from without gimping oneself. The Volcano denizens are a lot more aggressive now (which is fine), so it’s no longer the quiet (if scalding) stroll it once was to go about in there.
If anything it feels like there’s too many NPCs in the volcano now that feel a bit out of place as is. Where do they live? What are they doing other than standing around randomly? I would think maybe there would be fewer npcs in the volcano outside of the well of skelos or oracle spots and therefore justifying them having better stats. Maybe because there’s more NPCs in the volcano now thats why they lowered their stats?
Maybe. I think the Volcano is too difficult to access to get 2nd Tier Thralls from it. It’s also weird Reptile armor is cold armor after some changes shortly before launch. Despite the fact that there already is a cold vitality medium armor.
It’s +3 Grit and +2 Vit at basic level but I prefer Str armors because I save more stat points using them. But admittedly I avoid using Epic version because of the repair costs. Perhaps I will use Reptilian too
