The server I play on is empire (I forget the rest) and what I believe happened was I opened my inventory as I found the hidden sorcery cave it never updated my journey I’ve already upgraded my spell book and cast some spells but my journey still says find the hidden cave

The discovery triggers for locations are slow to respond and you can easily run past them without them triggering. Go back to the cave and move through it slowly, and it will trigger. The specific location where the trigger is located is right at the entrance doorway into the sorcerer section of the cave.

It happened to me as well when I entered that cave, but I did get the discover location on exit. It is possible that the trigger is very small or very slow to respond.
