Round foundations with square buildings, or square foundations with round buildings

I do not understand why I cannot build a round foundation or structure and then build a square building on top of it? Why does a new foundation on top of a current foundation have to conform exactly with tha shapes beneath it? As long as you have a foundation or structure below that is solid, why not let us build whatever we want on top of it. So let’s say I build a huge circular Platform from foundation pieces. I should be able to build on top of it a square foundation or building, right? It would be a really nice fix that would add a ton of creativity to buildings.

Yes, this would be great and should be allowed. It would be amazing if there was a paving option, or sealer, that would lock in all the base foundation pieces into a new solid piece, allowing any new foundations to be placed anywhere on it, as if it were just flat ground.

To lock many same (foundation pieces) into 1 big would be really a god idea for performance, as you have then only 1 entity instead on many. But ofc. you can’t undo it, so question is if people accept it . But a nice idea.

To @psunseri, I could imagine that it has to do with structural calculations. The base foundations seems to have a heavy influence how you build and how things are calculated. It would need even more calculations, so more lag i guess.

Agreed, maybe it would be less calculation if you consolidated it all into one solid piece.
