Sacred hunt extended but

So the main question I have is what was the issue here? This whole thing screams of there was an issue not reported that the hunt did that you took it down to repair and then test it with a plan time to tweak it. This smacks of corporate subterfuge and now I am so curious what was that near miss all about…really.

You think they intended it to be indefinite but took it down because of an issue that we’re not privy to and pretended it was timed?

I’m sorry, Friday brain dums.

I think it’s be a bad idea not to make it a first week of the month thing. Hell I’d take it a step further and have the event match the moon cycle, so we have it the week of the full moon

Yep. That’s my tinfoil hat idea. @Kikigirl

I’m going to don my own and honestly wouldn’t it put it past them. It’s totally better than releasing unfinished/buggy content and pretending it’s completely fine, right? Right? lol

I believe that as a community we started to become more and more difficult. And even when they do what people needs we still search “tinfoil conspiracy”.
Then we ask them to inform us in here… Why?
If we continue this road we’ll be totally abandoned blaming them for it.
So gather up, people asked and people received. Even if something else is behind it, it’s not our freaking business.

Don’t get me wrong… every company does this sort of thing…a quiet recall, if you will. Some will take it as an offense, others take it as 'whatever '…I love the intrigue of it and would like to know how close we were to a cliff… I mean are we talking about my console getting bricked or just some exploit that pvpers would exploit?

Only if you were hiding under a rock (or in a basement perhaps), you cant know what the issue was.
People here and steam forum could not shut up about it even if Funcom would be very well aware about it by the 10th post talking about the same thing.

My friend, it kind of is our business. Transparency in product and service is what keeps consumers loyal.

Yes, they did listen. It’s good! It’s something that if I were still playing would rejoice about.

I cannot disagree to this! But it’s utopia. No business will be transparent to any costumer ever, it’s against the marketing policy. Clients need to know specifics only. And there’s a simple reason for it. If you involve your clients in to your business more than you should, game over. The only place human kind needs absolute transparency is in justice, to none other. But even justice is blind, so good luck to us all sister, sad but true.

Completely agree. There is involving us in the journey and outright hobbling development to acquiesce.

But doesn’t that already happen? Considering there’s a few self proclaimed vocal advisors?

You can be “transparent” to this, you are not the business but client addressing to another client.

They need feedback. How they use it will always be their call because in the end they pay the price of it. For us it’s just a game, for them it’s food on their table.

It’s the “more than you should” that is subjective and highly dependent on the business relationship. If you view it as a partnership where you are invested equally, then a lot more transparency is fine and appreciated. If you adapt a caveat emptor approach of take no prisoners, then yes any internal information is damning. While I don’t believe we share a partnership of equal vestment (it’s a video game and my entertainment compared to Andy’s mortgage payment and livelihood), I don’t believe we are at such an adversarial relationship as the other side of the coin.

I love how people talk about a game like it was a “nation”, and complain at the same time game publishers and developers act like a government.

Transparency ? About what ? If they talk about the development (which they do, and 90% of the people posting here doesnt even know where to find it), it would not be on the radar for most people posting.

Even if you are not modding, this tells you how the game systems work:

You can track staff posts like this:
https://forums.funcom.com/g/funcom/activity/posts

On discord you have a feed in which the devs publicly list all the assets in the game are changed, and everything that is changed in a very detailed form.

But you cant expect to have ZERO knowledge of development and at the same be updated in each detail about development.

That is what is an utopia fuelled by stupid political rhetoric circling around.

This reminds me of those ludicrous posts people made saying “X game needs to be free to play, we need to democratize the access”.

Or that many people who thinks “filling a game with players” is the objective of a BUSINESS.

There is such thing as COST PER PLAYER, and it is high. It is very similar to the idea that stores should seek the “most costumers”, which also reflects “cost per costumer”.

Same problems there: If too many costumers go to a store, it needs more service people, more service installations, more service materials. It needs faster customer care, service and attention. It requires mediation for faster case by case analysis, and all that “good stuff”.

So no, half of what people say business “should care”, they really shouldnt.

It’s the only part that i would like to add, not to correct, just to suggest. Companies should care as much as is healthy for both sides.
It would be nice to live in a world that both sides respect reach other, understand each other and care for each other. But this is not the world we are living, this is not how human kind is made off. The apple example western religion has reflects exactly the nature of human kind.
Speaking from my side only right now, i would love to see from my fellow players more positivity and creativity in here.
I do understand that people suffer problems while playing this game, i am not out of this equation. But it will always remain my choice to continue playing it and why not provide my feedback in here on my own way. And i believe that there’s not right or wrong way to give feedback, but there’s always a proper way to address it and have manors if possible. And for God’s sake, the participants so far in this topic are ladies and gentlemen which i am really happy to chat with. Yet i feel that the general player reaction is keeping the negativity levels way higher than the positivity and we are equally responsible for this behavior, not only the gaming problems we suffer.
To this part i apply my fears to my friends here. Because i am old enough to know how this “relationship” ends up on situations like it.
Bottom line, i am married 21 years now, i fight with my wife yes, but i still love her and never forget to say it to her. We both need to say it and listen it also, even if it’s obvious.
(apologies for my poor example, but we are kinda married with this game ).
