Seriously Funcom, how are you this bad?

A bug that keeps you from moving items across inventories or equipping them or unequipping them, etc? I tried to research a solution and these posts go back for years. How do you people never fix game breaking, trash bugs that should have never existed in the first place? The way this kind of garbage persists in a game this old is just unprofessional. I gotta be honest, I’m hoping Dune falls flat on it’s face and your company shut down. A precedence needs to be set with your company as the example, for producing games that have the most potential but are ruined by the massive amount of bugs and just profesional incompetence that comes out of your company. Absolutely pathetic how major bugs can persist in this game. Sometimes sorting these items will fix it but other times there is no fix. It’s just stuck.

Absurd. You people are absolutely absurd.

Switch to NO SORTING.

Search the forums here for posts about NO SORTING. What you are experiencing is a mis-indexing, or a desync between your inventory thumbnails and the actual inventory objects. I’ve posted about this, just recently, on how to work around the issue.

Here it is. Details about the inventory bug that was introduced during the UI / inventory pass that Funcom made. And how to fix, or work around the issue.

This is how I feel about FC too, but the company continues as it always has while people on forums keep complaining about not being able to by crom coins. I guess we’re just living in a world full of ****** and so can’t expect a professional response.

Please remember that there was no issue with this until Funcom fiddled with things that didn’t need to be changed. We shouldn’t have to find solutions and workarounds to problems that didn’t exist until Funcom shoehorned them into the game. Funcom caused the issue and Funcom should be fixing the issue. So tired of them ruining this game more and more every time they patch. Time for a patch roll back to pre-sorcery. Get rid of all this broken nonsense in one fell swoop.

Happy holidays @Macdallan.

True statement but in general the game was never in a state that had no problems at all. I started this game on 2019 and the only Asura i could get from sinner’s refuge was Multigun. We have seen extremely game breaking updates over the years and all these years the solution was only the effort of some players to provide workarounds.
So i beg you not to go against @Cauthey or anyone else is trying to give options for others to continue playing even with duct tape.
Workarounds are no solutions!
Workarounds are just a way to continue playing until devs finally fix these game breaking issues.

Since it dropped

Work arounds are why we still have NPCs dropping through. Once there was a work around the bugs priority was dropped to “not a worry”. Animals don’t drop through, human skeletons don’t bosses don’t so why just NPCs. Why doesn’t a human skeleton drop through yet a human does?

Not my experience. My experience; and not just with funcom, is if you find a work around for a bug that bug is deprioritized and may never get fixed.

To this day my character is more likely to push off a ledge then pull up on it. And I don’t know if funcom has even looked at this bug. Seem it ought to be easy to see why some ledges pull up and some push off.

Trust me. Your way of thinking can been proven wrong too.
Let the people do as they wish and try to get their positive will.
Nobody is trying to help devs here, just fellow exiles and this my friend cannot be considered wrong, no matter the outcomes you think it may have.
But yes, workarounds or not, some bugs persist for years now and for some silly reason they seam to be features not bugs anymore .

Truth be told, this is an older game that exceeded their expectations, and adding things in can and does mess with the coding. “Spaghetti code” as Tephra referred to it. I imagine that IF they did a remake of Exiles not unlike Ark: Survival Ascended, that it would be a more stable game than the original Conan Exiles. But the upcoming Dune: Awakening can be a test run, and maybe we’d get another Conan game in the future.

too bad FC burnt all their goodwill for new games with the current one lol

By what I’ve seen so far, Dune still needs a whole lot of work.

Thanks for the tip, sorted by nothing does seem to work most of the time.

Yeah I don’t get what Funcoms deal is. I remember that being the single thing that would make me want to log out of this game is bugs.

Some stuff I recognize from 4 years ago is thralls falling through the ground when you knock them out, tamed thralls falling underground and not being able to attack, the absolutely TERRIBLE hit detection in combat, direction controls going a-wall during combat, getting stuck on random terrain in the game and falling off of ledges while climbing. Can’t remember if this is old or new but getting stuck in a state of walking backwards is super annoying.

Some new stuff: Executions are cool, except when they bug out and you get stuck between an enemy that can’t be finished and your thrall while getting wailed on by other enemies. An enemy that is stuck in an unexecutable state will keep you from attacking another enemy that is sharing the same space and thus you just have to take hits and wait until the enemy that is in an execution state to bleed out. The not being able to move stuff glitch, sometimes the stuff you put on the ground turns into something else.

I’ve always said that with The Secret World, Age of Conan, and Conan Exiles that Funcom produces some of the coolest ideas and really neat games, but fails in their execution to make them work. Why go through all the trouble to create a Ferrari and then have it fail because you won’t fix the rough idle and faulty brake pedal?

I agree to be honest here.
I am not going to play any more games by Funcom.
I’d quit exiles if i didn’t have a fair bit of monetary investment in it already.
With that said, they are not getting any more.

Show they actually want me as a customer by fixing things and i will return to spending, until then, not a cent.

sorry to say but everyone say that but we all know people are comming back and use money

thats not true, perhaps it is for some. for example i wont give blizzard any more money (because their games just arent fun anyway lol). anything made by ubisoft is off the list, same goes for sony.

im sure other companies are as bad i just havent experienced it yet. when i was younger i would just spend money no matter what the company did cause i wanted to play but now ive got other things id rather do and i value my time/sanity (tho that left me a while back too).

Yup.
I left Blizzturd a few years back because it became obvious they didn’t value me as a player any more in terms of content of their games and various other issues which are a bit too many to get into.
I wanted to like Diablo 4, but i just couldnt… I even gamepassed it and said nope, game is barely worth 20 bucks, i wasn’t going to give them the full asking price no way.

Ubisoft, yea not a fan of their stuff any more either and i was hoping that Star Wars Outlaws was going to be good and it turned out to be mediocre and that’s probably even giving that game more points than it deserves, i read a lot of stuff about it and watched vids…
I mean oof did they mess up an easy franchise to make something for.

And look at Skull and Bones… should be called Bare-Bones…

Lol, yea, those days are over.
They have reached the limits of what i will tolerate when it comes to spending.
I might still play it, but at least i am not promoting it with money any more.
Some free games i go even further and don’t even play them.

on top of falling standard in terms of quality and fun in the gaming industry, have you noticed a lot of the asking prices for new games on steam now? in australia (a banana republic), i see games ranging from $100 - $120 AUD.

theres just no way im paying that unless its a game thats been praised by the community as an outstanding source of entertainment + it being on sale. which in reality means ill be playing games that are likely 2-3 years behind current tech lol.

The game had issue back in Early Access. It never got better.

But then again, @Macdallan is always talking about going to pre-AoC, but the “fiddling with things that didn’t need to be changed” didn’t really start until AoW, so why is he so obsessed with going back to pre-AoS?

In a perfect world no, we shouldn’t. But would you rather people suffer or simply not be able to play rather than have a workaround offered to them? I mean… since we live in reality here, and the facts are what the facts are (that being that Funcom breaks things on a nearly constant basis), WHY WOULD YOU POSSIBLY BE AGAINST OTHER PLAYERS OFFERING WORKAROUNDS TO OTHER PLAYERS TO ALLOW THEM TO ACTUALLY PLAY? :woman_facepalming:

Yeah, no one suggested they shouldn’t be fixing the issues. Please show where anyone suggested otherwise. While you are at it, show these supposed fixes that Funcom is giving these players left out in the dark that you “care so much about”. Until you can show both of those things, kindly keep quiet on this issue.

Take a number.

Time for a dose of reality…

So… purge the game from everyone’s PC, Playstation and Xbox? Because the game was pretty much broken in early access, and it was pretty much broken at release. So how the hell far back do you want them to roll it back, alpha? It was likely broken then too. Concept boards? Probably the only point it wasn’t broken.

This is not actually soo much directed at you personally, it just got me thinking.

How can i work around rendering issues?
How can i fix boob physics failing to work?
Etc…

If we were talking cars, if the level of bugs in this game were inside a car this would be easily considered unacceptable.
We certainly wouldn’t give excuses for certain companies within the auto industry when it came to habitual manufacturing defects.
We would drop them like a bad habit or drop a defective feature if it was optional.
We certainly wouldn’t continue supporting that sort of stuff with money.

So what makes a computer game or console game company more special?

The bugginess is reaching absurd levels yet nothing changes.
So one can only assume it’s because people keep spending, so why are people making excuses and still opening their wallets?
Why can’t we let a game company fail if it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to?
What is soo wrong with weeding out the bad apples from the industry?

Anyways, i don’t know why i keep coming back here to comment on this stuff like a broken record, i guess i keep hoping things will change, but they never do.

If anyone misreads the tone, i mean no ill will towards the company.
I just want changes and i won’t be supporting them with money or recommendations until they do.
It’s just that simple nothing more.

I agree, I’ve said many times before that Game Development is the only industry I know of where you can get away with such gross levels of incompetence and neglect to a product with no real repercussions. It’s because it’s entertainment, you can’t typically get your ticket money back if a movie sucks, etc. Which to be fair, once major American corporations get involved in any industry it goes to crap and gaming has been no exception.

They forget it’s the players and their money that brought them success. Insulting how we are left in the dark.
