My opinion: we hype alot for every new game mostly. Then we play it as the world was going to end anytime soon. Then we get bored with that game and start searching for the next hype. We do that over and over again as an addicted does…
Well, it was a time when i used to play the game in a very slow playtrough, enjoying every aspect, testing everithing with no rush to level up and get the game done. I did that with Skyrim and played it for two years before changing games in my console.
We’ve so much hurry these days that even the games we love become boring earlier.
Get the game, take your favourite drink, seat confortably and anjoy it slowly. That’s my way.
Now a days people may feel as them should be the best in every game, also there’s them “try harder” guys and alot of things that worth nothing at all.
It’s a game. It was made to bring you fun. So enjoy it.
I am not sure if that’s the best way.;
Recently i’ve found a good server to play in and found a good alliance so me and my clanmates became the “alpha” clan. Well, since the server was pacified and kind a refuge we’re trying to keep things this way so we started attacking and raiding those who attack lonely players or offline people and we have turned ourselves as the cops of that server;
Then the problems beggun: most of the clans we had to deal with was low level players that started harassing and griefing at really low levels! Those guys went to the server and reached level 20 and so they start destroyng everything and everyone no matter if their victms was lower level or alone guys or a small clan. But when we tossed them back to the desert they started complaining that we was harassing them because they were lower levels and all sort of crying stuff…
That makes me wonder if we should interfere at all, if we aren’t being unfair, if that’s really what people wants… They even told me that it was pvp and they should be allowed to do whatever they wish.
So my friends, what is exactly right in that situation? Do i have the right to police everyone else just because i am the strongher now? Do they have the rigth to crush everyone else just because it’s a pvp server? This matter is deeper than we can understand…
Its PVP play how you want to, not how others tell you.
I guess that’s exactly the issue: many people takes the pvp stuff too far. The fact that you can attack anyone doesn’t means you should. Doesn’t even means you need it. But when you see people attacking, killing and destroying for no reason at all, that means they would do the same in real life if they could. To me it means no respect for the others when someone attacks without any reason people that doesn’t even know. What to say about those who raid offline people!? They’re the worst kind of person we can find in a game.
Anyway, i could accept any behavior in some games because they are for battle arenas purppose. Conan Exiles isn’t a battle arena though. It’s basicaly a survival game. If you get isolated in a dangerous land you would try to find people to face that land togheter or you’ll kill everyone on sight? Many players just does the second behavior. That’s how mankind does when have no rules and no consequences to hold them off…
yup people play how they want and not all of our visions of the game align. I for example see no issue with offline raiding. The raid window is so small that it really doesn’t matter, it should be expected I think. I raid when the opportunity arises, I don’t check player lists to even know if they are online. But I am never one to kill on sight even with a known enemy clan. I like PVP to be fun, not me jumping on someone grinding mats.
Guess i can’t do anything about that but i still don’t like offline raiding. Those you’ll raid should at least have a chance to deffend themselves. How can that be fairplay when you raid a place wich have no one online to deffend theyr stuff?
Well, that’s just my opinion though…
Build as if you will be raided everyday, hide stuff in secret places. I play solo mostly so ive been subject to many raids, on and offline. It’s all part of the game.
I didn’t read the whole thread, so I’m sorry if this was brought up. Can’t the server admin ban the players? If I were paying good money to run a serve, I would sure as hell want players to stick around. So the ability to ban trouble makers is paramount.
I’ve found that if you build out of a bomb raidius you can avoid the non raid time raid hours raid. On the sides of mountains on pillar rocks in the desert you have to out wit your adversaries get creative use so many dam elevators then pick them up when you are not online so they can’t do anything
there is no server admin on official servers
Maybe play Solo/Co-op for a time. You can invite a friend or enjoy the solitude.
So, funny story: I actually did find solitude. The actual server Solitude, lol. Private RP-PvP. Run by admins that actually give a damn. Griefers are banned ASAP. Meta builds are demolished to prevent cheese. Would 1000% recommend. The server even hit #1 worldwide yesterday.
This only confirms my idea of private servers as the future of this game. Never since early access, and not even then, have I had the least interest in joining an unmoderated server. You experienced why. I’m very happy you keep playing and have found a server you can call your home!.
