Server doesn't boot after hotfix

I have posted MANY times on this issue since the “Update” and I am in the same boat as many here. I have not been able to successfully boot my server since the update. It says it is running but I see the None issues as everyone else does as it attempts to look for mod items that I no longer have installed but once had installed. I have never seen this before the patch and the delays involved with the search are over 20s each as it looks for the items.

Our Dedicated Private Server (1.7.9) had been running perfectly before the patch. We have over 4000 hours in here and would be heartbroken to see that gone.

We are hoping that funcom is able to fix this issue or even just acknowledge that they know that it exists. As someone stated earlier in the thread this is effecting 1000s of players. This is a MAJOR issue as people are paying for hosting services and unable to play.

Funcom needs to make some sort of statement about this soon. Their communication is just bad.

I am with you guys… my server has 70 mods… seems like alot i know… my server has been down for like… 3 hours looks like its at the brink of booting… now whether it will or not i have no idea… i am dreading running maintenance because i know… the long load from this glitch will make maintenance take much longer… PLEASE FUNCOM JESUS FIX THIS!!! :frowning: :frowning:

Funcom, please fix this problem so we can play! I hate to see so many people playing other games while Conan is broken, and possibly not coming back.

Our server is in the state mentioned in this thread. Glad everyone has posted here. Also glad I have not asked G-portal to help, this time. But, they may want to ask Funco to help us, or loose a bunch of our interest.

Also getting this same problem

So infuriating my server will not boot up at all after the funcom hotfix.

Maybe we all just don´t understand that this is really the Fix for the “Thrall Leaving” Problem. Now they don´t leave anymore, they are in Stasis. Problem solved. :joy:

I do agree 100% that funcom needs to stop making changes to this game and let the mod community take care of it.

other games in the industry are leaps and bounds beyond what funcom has done with conan exiles vanilla game.

so please. just stop.

go mess up dune and leave conan alone

Hey everyone. I am copying and pasting this here from another thread.

I strongly recommend that folks try this. It worked for us on our dedicated private server (1.7.9) and we have our 14 mods running now without issue.

That being said, when mods are deleted/unsubscribed, these rows really should be wiped clean from the DB file and they are not. This shouldn’t be a step that admins have to take.

TY very much. This works for me in Singleplayer too. Tried it and can play again. NICE!!!

The Conan Admin discord are working on a more perm solution too this.

It’s still early and it’s in V1 so far, but as posted here, this will cut down start up times a lot.

Massive thanks, to both you and T. The manual flush of straggler data was holding our server from a proper start up. The prog. mentioned is very powerful mojo, indeed a double back up of the orig. db file was in order. Once changes are made the db file appears to not have saved as a usable/different file, but upon closing the db file, the cleaned up work resides in place of the orig. Sorta missed the Sort button before the work as well, but was able to find a way and eventually realized what did that.
Thanks again.

Its just Funcom finding another way to screw with modded servers because the mods compromise their bazaar revenue stream.

I’m not sure they are that cynical modding and user generated content is what keeps this game alive, plus with Dune on the horizon it would be beyond company suicide to create so much bad feeling with existing customers when you have a invested so much in another IP and developed an MMO around it coming out in a few months

It looks like the “short form” asset reference issue is causing the boot problem. Since you’ve tried booting with/without mods and moved the server port, check for any incorrect asset references in your config files. Clearing the server cache or rolling back the hotfix might help. If not, reach out to G-Portal support for further assistance. Hope this helps!

A Huge, massive thank to all who worked on this issue over at the admins united discord

After deleting all and only the core.log section of engine.ini it finally produced the correct log output for the program to do it’s thing. I’m still checking

But THIS is how much difference it as made
from BEFORE live… 0]LogLoad: (Engine Initialization) Total time: 30498.35 seconds
After when I ran script
[2024.11.07-08.36.55:572][ 0]LogLoad: (Engine Initialization) Total time: 315.35 seconds

What a difference! Now to wait for a official funcom fix so it’s doesnt happen again

How exactly can you proceed? I have over 7000 entries, with about 125 I was sure that these mods are old, because I no longer have them, the boot unfortunately still takes hours. Is there a special way to identify these files? What strikes me is that the old entries seem to be at the top, is that correct?

The answer was in there, but it’s temp fix, but it works.

Yeah i give it a try, i’m not sure that i delete all old ones, because it looks like old files from actuall mods i use, but i break down from 5 hours to 15 mins… Even my thralls are now finding their way better, unbelievable. Funcom should hire Testerle for fix there game, lol  <3 much love, awesome community!
