So my server was about to go merge to a other server.
First i packed up my base. Than the date got cancelled because of problems at Funcoms side.
Than i got a new date and last night i did wanna merge and noticed the message is gone again.
Does anybody knows what happening?
Why not just keep it active for players that they can transfer overencumbered since the server is gonna close anyways. It kinda annoyed me that everytime i get off of work that its changed again and i cant prepare myself.
I don’t think it’s as easy for in game as it is behind the scenes merging data tables. I don’t think there is a switch they can toggle for overencumbered allowed.
I just want them to keep the servers unlocked (IE allow new and transfered characters) until 2 weeks from due date. Let us try to get stuff out ourselves via normal transfers. This locking them down and then run into bugs and delays and unlocking until the fix is in just to lock again…i could have had mover half of the total stock out of their by this point.
That’s altering code and would require a mess of QC and console approvals to boot. This was supposed to be a quick thing to cut costs and get the players energized with other players (vs just building up a server like your own personal single player game). Knowing Sony, that would delay this another month to get approval.
Besides, it’s way more than likely not something in the client… It’s whatever is handling the server transfers - I don’t even think it’s in the server code. I dunno tho… haven’t really looked into it.
It is rather frustrating to get yourself ready for the merge and it keeps getting delayed. I think almost everyone on one of my servers has packed themselves and then just let decay take their bases, as there is now only a couple of bases still on the sever.
Guess I need to log back in and remove the GoldVeins from my pack since it is going to be months rather than days for the move.
