I feel silly linking this but the spirit compels me. I’ll see your time warp and raise you one true surviver.
The 80’s… I guess you had to be there.

Well, we’ve had 70’s, though no Frampton and his voice box yet, some 80’s and a good bit of 90’s, to be fair the 90’s are pretty much a bottomless well of good music, so how about some 60’s…
Bobbie Gentry was the current thing in those days, I even had one of her albums on 8 track that had bumped the Beatles out of the number one spot on the charts. She’s best known for Ode to Billy Joe which I never found all that appealing but there were plenty of others that I did like.
Might be at least somewhat accurate to describe her as the Lady Gaga of the time. Not bad for a poor white trash girl from Mississippi. Should you be curious here’s a brief overview:
I lived in Mississippi for a time. One of my prominent memories of it was helping my dad erect a barbed wire fence around ten acres of land. After which we sold it and moved… but at least there was this song in which Ms Bobbie learned us how to spell Mississippi.
My go to video for this next one seems to have disappeared. Was a great series of pictures that matched the lyrics. Ah well.
One for the road.
