Just like it says, every time I start to fight the queen scorpion, the legendary chests turn to bags. When I run to them, there are no weapons, just stuff in the bags.
PS5, both private and ofiicial servers, and on single player.

that usually means the chests took damage in the fight and broke

Yeah, the queen has pretty wide attacks, it is best to kite her down the hall a good ways away from the chests for the fight to avoid her inadvertently destroying them.

As soon as you reach the place and you render the area, the chests turn in to bags.
The queen scorpion at the time of the photo is fighting away from chests, of course she can break the chests while fighting, even we can, but this is not the case here, like Speedice said they turn to bags alone.

The chest turns into a bag as soon as the legendary weapon is taken from them.
If there’s no legendary item in those chest-bags, it means that item either despawns or otherwise vanishes, triggering the chest’s metamorphosis.

On ps5 it acts like @speedice reported above. As soon as you render the area from afar you see the chests become lootbags at once. Neither the player (50m away), neither the scorpions are touching them because they head towards you.
It wasn’t this way, it became this way the last days.
Yeah, I understood that. But, as you guys have reported, there is no legendary item in those bags, then that must be what’s causing the chests to go poof. Something (maybe a bug) is causing the legendary item to disappear, which is what makes the chest disappear. All other skeleton key chests vanish too when you remove the legendary, but the other chests don’t have any extra loot that would cause a bag to pop up.
If the chest was destroyed by collateral damage from fighting, the legendary item would still be in that bag of loot. But if it’s not, then I’m reasonably certain that it’s the mysterious despawning of the legendary item that also makes the chest disappear.
