No one did the dungeon before me. I just got up to the boss and the chests dissapeard in my face… it happend yesterday as well, and today 2 times…

this has happened to me a few times too, really strange
This was occurring on occasion before they moved all chests to dungeons. It may be a related issue that was carried over.
I play on PlayStation and I’d get the same issue. Kill a boss, see chest, start running over to unlock and it disappears. Likely the same thing is happening.
This bug first appeared when they made chests generate their contents before players looked inside them so that you could see inside them and quick loot them.
So most likely as you approach, something fails in the loot generation and causes the chest to delete itself.
Today I came again and I was able to loot the chests, but now I got only the weapons in them, the misc loot no… strange.
They should only be the weapons. I’ve never seen a skeleton key chest contain ANYTHING but the weapon… so the fact that you were getting other items seems a bit strange.
I was getting gold, star metal, powders, seeds in them before… idk
You’re sure it was a skeleton key one and you’re not confusing it with these new ones that are different chests entirely?
Yep. This is not a new issue and was definitely happening before the chests moved into dungeons. My clan on an official server we have since left had a ton of skeleton keys because chests would often disappear sometime between us engaging and defeating the boss. It would happen often enough for us to have 10+ in a chest at a time.
I had a hope that it would’ve been fixed, but I see that is not the case. I am disappointed, but not surprised.
I should note we play on PC, so it’s not limited to console.
I’ve never seen skeleton key chests with anything in addition to the legendary item.
Run the silver mine.
The Queen Scorpion at the bottom, she has her own loot and the chests near her have legendary items and good sundries as well.
This one saw a few other places, but does not recall exactly which ones.
Hopefully this isn’t a bug and instead is part of the loot rebalance, because the silver mine needed more reason to visit.
And on the main topic, the same.thing happens to this one with some regularity.
Now that skeleton chests travel in packs, it seems less common for them to get lost, but it still sucks when it does happen

No, I think you’re misunderstanding… there’s two types of chests. The regular ones that spawn different stuff inside and the skeleton key ones that spawn a single legendary item. He’s saying two things here:
(1) legendary chests are disappearing. To that, I agree, it’s a longtime issue. He’s also saying (2) the legendary chests use to spawn all sorts of items in them like regular chests (in addition to the legendary item), but now he’s only finding a legendary item. To that, I’ve never seen such a thing. It has always been a single legendary item. @Kapoteeni is stating the same as I am: one legendary item.
If you’re saying that you agree that you’ve seen these extra items in chests, then it must be some unique thing to PC or something… or you’re both mistaken—to which I am unable to validate. The new purge chests are the first time I’ve seen tons of other stuff, in addition to legendary items.

Yes. I, too, must stand corrected. The Silver Mine loot chests indeed contain other stuff in addition to the legendary:
And as Lectorn says, the chest follow the regular Skeleton chest behavior and poof as soon as the legendary item is taken out.
These are the only chests I’ve seen so far with anything else except the legendary item. I quite like them this way.

It’s not all the Legendary Chests, just the ones in the Silver mine and a couple others this one does not remember where exactly.

. Exile lands has many Siptah content now, even flotsam boxes.
So far gravedigger is necessary to wine cellar and well of Skelos. And in the jhil caves you won’t need keys to gain legendary weapons… Yes there are normal chests with free legendary weapons as well! And i am not speaking about shark bite and whale hammer, i speak about the real deal legendary weapons. About the midnight dungeon? Coup de Grace
