Game mode: Online Official
Type of issue: Bug (I’d call it a bug, I guess.)
Server type: PvE
Region: North America
The lighting in Siptah since PC update 2.4 has some issues on my system. All of the shadows are far too dark in Siptah, but in some areas things look washed out. Oddly in other areas the colours appear to be too saturated, somehow.
This issue does not occur in Exiled Lands. I had to increase gamma to 2.5 in order to make Siptah playable, but it doesn’t look as good as it used to when I do that, and it’s barely effective. In one instance I logged in to the game (Siptah) and it almost looked normal but the lighting seemed a bit too bright and some colours were very washed out so I adjusted the gamma down to 1.5 which is where I used to keep it all the time for both Siptah and the Exiled Lands maps. Unfortunately when I did that the lighting became extremely dark. I put the gamma back up to 2.5 but it was still darker than it had been when I had first logged in. I have no idea why it would do that. I verified all game files, there were no issues.
I would guess that this has to be something affecting only the Siptah map. The Exiled Lands lighting and graphics look fine, and this isn’t happening in any other games that I own.
Several other users have reported the same issue on the Steam forums.
I need to be clear, I have no issue with the nights being very dark. Shadowed areas at night, and anywhere outside at night, should be dark or completely pitch black without a light source, natural or otherwise.
Ability to clearly see, even in shadowy areas, when outside and it’s the middle of the day. Shadows not making things nearly pitch black or too dark during the day or when lights are present. Graphics quality, colours, lighting, etc. should mirror the Exiled Lands, not look darker, more saturated, more washed out.
Log in to Siptah and play. This issue does not occur on the Exiled Lands.
