The last few days i did the Warmaker and Winecellar several times with the same thrall, my darling Iris.
She did perfect until today.
The only difference that i can think of, today i had all my workstations active (4 smelters, 2 smiths, carpenter, 2 alchemists, fish, honey, planters etc.) And had a download running.
Today she fell all the time, her heavy combos often came at the wrong time, the arena Champion almost killed her… so bad day.
I honestly think, the moment i run 4 smelters, the game begins to bug out. I have an i7-8700k, 3,7 GHz CPU, it was much worse with my old i5.
All that matters! Or am i supersticious?
Sadly, the Purge difficulty settings on Official servers have made it seemingly impossible to get the Votaries (and other Purges Types with a max difficulty of 4) to spawn. The official I play on doesn’t see anything there but yetis, CBTs, or Silent Legion, which all have a max difficulty of 6.
That’s not to say that the T4 CBT fighters aren’t formidable in their own right, but the Volcano T4s like Erii, Daicas, etc. make up for having slightly lower HP by hitting a lot harder.
Anyway, really hoping the planned thrall revamps include beefing up all human-capable purge types to have a difficulty cap of 6, or that the selection code starts including the difficulty 1-4 purges again. There are huge swaths of the map that simply go under-utilized because end game PvEers want the best thralls and that requires them to build where human purge will spawn.
Fascinating input on land use. Your observations are op as usual.
Just to keep this discussion in perspective, I shall now make a list of all thralls that are the literal worst and should eternally burn in the pits while Crom laughs:
All the Votary fighters that use 2H swords.
Thank you.
Something I’ve never seen mentioned about the Relic Hunter Treasure Seekers is their attacks will vary by what weapon type they are. A dagger or spear Treasure Seeker will attack with different combos than a sword wielding Treasure Seeker.
Try giving each of the Treasure Seeker types a Predatory Blade. You’ll notice after some testing that the sword wielder will never stack any cripple on an enemy. The dagger and spear wielding Treasure Seekers will stack cripple.
Length of combo seems to be the major difference between Treasure Seeker thralls and Cimmerian Berserker thralls. The berserkers will do more 4 attack combos. At least it seems this way to me.
I have my fighters from the volcano purge, I’m quite happy with it.
My clan and I are very lucky, we have a human purge every week.
We have Cormag, Frida, Ulfric from the Cimmerian.
And Zrist of the Blade from the volcano purge.

Which coordinates do you have a base there?
In the first gas field next to the skelos shrine.
A really good place for a purge.
Actually there is a way to skew the odds of a T4 Purge in your favor.
If you build a base in the T4 purge area you want to make sure each individual building is not connected to the other’s grid.
My method is to build the T4 area base with as many individual, non-grid locked buildings so that the purge recognizes each structure as its own Purge Destination Waypoint.
The Base with the most Purge Destination Waypoints will be more likely to spawn a purge in that location where a base or outpost that is built within one grid (ie 1 Purge Destination Waypoint) will be less likely to generate a purge at that location.
Since I have committed to this method I have had nothing but T4 Purges and is how I have multiples of the Beast-Tamer Thralls.
Oh I’ve got an alt account with just a single base for guaranteeing where I get purged, and several chests full of CBTs. However I want some of those Votary thralls still.
Are you playing on an official server? If not, what is the Purge difficulty set to?
Official PvE-C
Ah… thats the reason I see there so often bases from different clans.
Have to wait until they move. Currently its the clan which blocked some obelisks in the past and one lemurian lorestone.
@Larathiel If it is his normal server, its an official PvE server for PS4.
@GodsOfExiles I’d be curious to see what your volcano base looks like and it’s exact coordinates, but I play on PC so there’s no way for me to visit in person.
If you’re unwilling to post screenshots or coordinates in public (i.e. don’t want to give away strategic aide to competitors on your server), would you be opposed to DMing a few details to me? I’d like to experiment at the same spot on the Official PvE I’m on to see if I can finally get Votaries to spawn.
We play on the server 3030 PvE Officially.
Our base is just a small house with many Thralls equipped with Love Tap.
The coordinates I have already written above and unfortunately it is not otherwise.
I can send you screenshots afterwards, we are still busy shutting down some pages. After that, I have time to go to Conan Online.
Someone on Reddit was kind enough to post some test results of the top damage per hit using a mod I believe for testing. Showing with a single star metal hammer light attack berserkers hitting for 204 while the rest of your tier 4 treasure seekers and votaries were 189.
I saw the post also. It seems like trust-able data.
I have all 4 volcano thralls so I can test it out eventually. To see if they do the same damage but I doubt it’s necessary.
I think I remember purge thralls doing less than spina/erii/daicas/kisthis. The order was something like
Zerker
Volcano thralls
RHTS
Dalinsia
On the reddit post
It’s odd that purge thralls would do less but I guess that’s because they have the most hp? I do like that berserkers are the highest, seems fitting for the title.
Im more interseted in the programming. I wanna know if the thrall ai’s really are different or if it just coincideence. I know 2 of the votaries thrall are labeled hostile if you spawn them in.
