after this update, spider could not drop gossamer, my bow could not have silk to fix. sad

The update made gossamer unharvestable by pickaxes and hatchets, but a sickle should work. I thought this referred to gossamer resource spawns and not harvesting monsters, though. I never bothered to harvest spiders for gossamer anyway - too much trouble - I just go to Silkwood, collect a full inventory of gossamer from the spider egg sacs and then run like stupid when one of the giant spiders spots me stealing her grandbabies.
They gave some gossamer before, so you could have it on rather low levels. Yesterday I’ve killed some of them (for self-defence only) but got only chitin and some ichor.

If you go into the spider cave there is a lot of it just laying on the ground. All you need to do is collect it.

Yep. There are a few other spots too - the Silkwood as I said earlier, and the cliffs in the southern desert south of Spinebreaker’s Flank.

You can also harvest silk from the wights in the mounds of the undead 
I always found fighting spiders a waste of time. Scorpions are a better source of chitin, and as you say, fishing gives plenty of ichor. As for silk - it was always more effective to harvest the nodes instead of the spiders, so there was never any point in fighting spiders.
